This song brings back some bittersweet memories. BOC was one of the bands that went right along with bands like Rush, Yes, Kansas, etc. If you haven't listened to "Godzilla" that is one for the BOC Rabbit hole. I'd also offer: "I Love The Night" "Nosferatu" "Hot Rails To Hell" And one that might be considered NSFW: "The Golden Age of Leather" The meaning of this song has changed for me over the years. After my brother Ray (aka Wizard) died (1980) I couldn't listen to this song. We were almost through university when he was killed, and we both played guitar. We spent hours upon hours with the Agents of Fortune record trying to learn those dual lead lines. Neither of us were even close to the level of Eric Bloom or Buck Dharma but it kept us off the streets and out of trouble (mostly😎) At least we got to see BOC live a couple of times - we and our "brother from another mother" Larry also saw RUSH together three, possibly four times but I can't specifically recall.

Anyway, I'm commenting while the vid is playing cuz I didn't want to forget to tell you that now that you've heard this song.... you HAVE TO WATCH the '00 SNL skit "MORE COWBELL", it's about this song! lol!! It has Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon, Christopher Walkin and a few others!! It's about this song and Blue Oyster Cult. It's freaking hysterical and has become damn near as iconic as the song!!👊💯💯💯 Anyway, just watch it even it's just for yourself, HOWEVER..... I think it would be a great reaction for your other channel "Biz Meets World"!! Just saying!!!🤷♀😁 K, gonna rewatch your reaction to thi song and pay full attention this time! lol!! Man, this may very well be my favorite song. Period. But yeah, if you’re gonna dive into BOC, they have an interesting catalog. Lots of hit and miss, but their highs are pretty epic, and I feel like they’re pretty underrated. Godzilla and Burinin’ for You (as well as this one you just listened to) are probably their best known and most popular songs. Dominance and Submission, E.T.I., The Revenge of Vera Gemini, Subhuman, Transmaniacon MC, Career of Evil, Hot Rails to Hell, Divine Wind, and a bunch of others are all great.

I saw them twice. The first time was the Summer of 1978 in Honolulu. They had just arrived from Japan. I still remember what the lead singer told the audience. “We’ve been on tour in Japan for weeks. Do you know what we missed most about home? Large American Breasts”! The second time was about 7 years ago at the NAMM show in Anaheim. Only about 2 or 3 of the original band members were there was some newer members too. It was in a small room with only about 50 people in there, and they only played Don’t Fear the Reaper. I recorded it in my phone. Amazing experience. Sadly, the video was lost because I’m bad at backing up my data!

Ok, just so you know. I know I'm late to the party but, it's time to be schooled. "Don't fear the reaper". Was released in 1976. The Romeo and Juliette movie you referenced came out in 1996. So, pretty sure you are mistaken in your wisdom but keep on rocking. Love to see you young people enjoy the music I grew up on.

There's been a spot for boc on my playlist for decades. We didn't have the luxury of always pulling up words to a song. And there are times some singers you just can't understand. Sometimes it took years to figure out what you thought was actually wrong. More so because I had careers and hobbies and many times they were merged. So time was precious and so was family. Okay I'm boring. I could name some of their obvious songs but one in particular comes to mind that is not so popular. Black Blade. It is a song based on a series of novels. Had the opportunity to see boc twice. It was at the black and blue concert "s". Molly Hatchet leading off BRC then Black Sabbath. Sabbath was nearly done with their set when in Arizona monsoon blew in Sabbath kept playing with the Thunder rumbling through their amps. Then the wind hit. A stampede of people ran for cover. ( outdoor baseball stadium). Then part of a wall of speakers blew down, and the Sound Stage was heavily damaged. Our group over a dozen brought large tarps as we knew what to expect. Do we covered up and sat it out. Immediately before anyone could ever escape they were already announcing save your ticket stubs will come back and do it again. And again they did. For free. I'd like to add we were down front 5 ft from the stage when Molly Hatch was playing. With three band sound systems the sound was overwhelming. So we moved up in the bleachers. Hadn't realized just how many bands we had seen until thinking back on it. clueless as to where we found the time.

You need to check out the "black period" of BOC's music, comprised of their first three albums (owing to the black and white artwork on the album covers). On the 1971 self-titled first album, the standout tracks are "Stairway To The Stars", "Then Came The Last Day Of May", "Before The Kiss, A Redcap", and "Cities On Flame With Rock And Roll". 1973's Tyranny And Mutation LP (probably my favorite BOC album) had some killer tunes, "The Red & The Black", "Wings Wetted Down", "O.D.'d On Life Itself", and "7 Screaming Diz-Busters". 1974's Secret Treaties LP had some real strong tracks too, "Astronomy", "Harvester Of Eyes", "ME 262" (probably the only rock song about a German Messerschmidt fighter jet), and "Career Of Evil". There is a lot to discover within the deep catalog of this highly influential band.

Put me on a deserted island with the BOC and steely dan catalogues and I'm good. You can pull even the most obscure BOC music and you will find its good. If the BizMatik wants to go obscure he can listen and discuss the song "Divine Wind" and give us an interpretation. If he wants to go with the new record he can listen to "Florida Man". Now you blazing your own BOC trail, unlike all these other copy cat youtoob commentators.
