Albert was the original drummer, but for this performance he was playing guitar on Morning Final and percussion on Tenderloin. Eric Bloom was playing keys behinds Richie on Morning Final, Buck plays the Cheeseburger.

You've done a lot of BOC songs, but so far you're missing out on a gem from their debut album. Check out the haunting beauty of their song "She's As Beautiful As A Foot" It's the first BOC song I ever heard way back in 1972 and was an instant Blue Oyster Cult fan for life.

Buck Dharma was playing the Swiss Cheese guitar. Albert Bouchard, the original drummer, guested on several songs, playing guitar and providing some vocals and percussion. Richie Castellano began as the keyboardist, but subsequently contributed more rhythm guitar. He is now keyboardist, third vocalist and second lead guitarist. Eric "Shades" Bloom was the guy with, yes, you guessed it, the sunglasses. At that time, former Utopia bassist Kasim Sulton played bass guitar and contributed backing vocals. A few years ago, he departed and former Queen bassist Danny Miranda returned for his second stint with Cult. He and Jules Radino, longtime drummer, continue in those roles. Richie Dactellano is quite the muso! He recently played bass on the Band Geeks tour with Jon Anderson (Yes). He played all of Chris Squire's parts flawlessly,and backing vocals. He also wrote/sang lead on 4 tracks from BOC's newest album - The Symbol Remains. Those 4 songs just might be the best ones-but it's a great (final) studio album! Thanks for the react,dude...T

These two songs sound different than the most well known songs in the BOC catalog. Progressive and jazzy with a splash of pop to go along with the mysterious BOC sound. I often thought the Tenderloin song was influenced by Return To Forever given the interesting sounds and numerous transitions. I think there might be some time signature changes thrown in as well. I've seen a few people comment that BOC is the Steely Dan of heavy metal, which is a fairly accurate assessment IMO given the superior musicianship and the cryptic lyrics. These two songs certainly support that theory. Thanks for posting this video and the analysis.

Morning Final written and lead vox by original bass player Joe Bouchard. Was not available for this performance so lead vox handled by multi-instrumentalist Richie Castellano, who was heavily involved in their latest album The Symbol Remains.
