Rather hilariously, that's my ex-girlfriend reading her poem at the end. We went out briefly as teenagers. Her parents gleefully dug out a VHS of this clip to show me, as the poor girl sank into the sofa, mortified with embarrassment.

Cant remember this episode but I remember watching when it was these presenters. My faves. Never missed Blue Peter on a tea time so im likely to of seen it. Love it thanks for uploading

The late 80s really were a sort of "Fashion Chernobyl" from which few, if any TV presenters escaped unscathed. Respectful memories to Caron Keating who was indeed very charming.

@@odakyuodakyu6650 At the time there was an omnibus at the weekend where they repeated the week's two episodes, and they would do a new link for that to segue from the Monday episode to the Thursday one. In this instance Showtime was the last thing featured on the Monday episode whilst the Poolbath was the first full item on the Thursday edition (once the appeal news was done). Presumably they recorded the omnibus link on Thursday after the show, and did it on the end of the tape holding both episodes, so when she's talking about 'last Thursday' it probably still was that Thursday when she was saying it. Although all the episodes of Blue Peter from the mid 60s on survive they did not routinely keep the omnibus links apparently, so this could be a rare find.
