Hype does a lot to a game. Blue protocol's global servers probably would have exploded if they were released earlier. And content drought would've instantly set in. So you have 2 areas of feedback of players blocked out by complaints for server overload. So if anything, it's for the better! Remember NGS' release? Super hyped, 51K players peak, servers crashed, actual gameplay was short lived, and now it has less players than it did when it wasn't base pso2. So I think it's better this way. Best to be patient and wait for the moment to hit.

I actually dont think this has to do with the devs fixing stuff and working on the game, even though they are I dont think thats the root of this. I think this is an Amazon and localization issue like what PSO2 dealt with. When PSO2 launched in JP it was doing great and they promised a global launch but after 5+ years nothing happened so I think even if the game is lacking BP would have been put already if it werent for Amazon and whatever localization issues they are dealing with. Also..citing MMOByte really isnt the best source...he's quite known for doomposting and I have heard pretty good reviews of the game from JP players and no one actually has links to the main devs of the game so...we dont know what the devs or Amazon consider "doing poor and doing well" so thats baseless. The key points are there are updates and content being worked on in the game based on dev streams, game runs well and plays well based on what I have seen and heard from others, only issue is that Amazon is dropping the ball HARD xj
@Bbyongie7 ай бұрын
i agree with this comment as someone who played the game a long time in JP server ! I made a full (maybe too full) comment about my experience that is so wildly different from all the doomposts i've read 😅 I also think the problem is more from localisation than anything else and on Amazon's side. And tbh lots of games go very quiet until they decide to finally release something (even when we know it's on the making, like elden ring's dlc for example). I don't think it's time to panic yet, pretty sure Amazon doesn't want to have to swap the gacha events around so they will just easily release the game in June to fit the original timeline ^~^

Well, Smilegate(Korea) and Cayenne Tech(Taiwan,Macau,HongKong) are also delayed. if we look at the equation Bandai is the one responsible for all the delays. Funny thing Smilegate and Cayenne Tech has to release only on PC yet they don't have a release date after the delay.
@Kova_xo7 ай бұрын
I must admit, I do honestly believe that this delay is going to be worthwhile, I play on JP on and off to see what theyve added and how much the game has changed and I can with confidence say that the game is heading in a positive direction. My guess is 1-2 months before FFXIV's expact, or 1-2 months after the expac to avoid that packed window. All the game needs is some true endgame content like traditional raids, and good side content like player housing, more minigames / events etc. I also have a gut feeling theyre in the works for collabs in the near future. Bandai have invested a lot and I think with Global, theyll gain a decent revenue stream since MMO's and PC gaming is far more popular over in the west.

Speaking of blue protocol content. I asked someone who played the JP version of the game and he said that the way the new content works in the game is that after they are released, they don't really have that much to do in them, so you do these content for like a couple of days then you just don't have any other reason to do them again. So they go back to the old gameplay loop. The content doesn't give you multiple reasons to do them. I am not sure how true this is, but after watching several BP streams recently, I am starting to think that it is.
@camfreed98297 ай бұрын
As someone who plays JP DAILY this is false! There is TONS of content to do in the game. A lot of people don’t even finish content before each new update. Non JP content creators are (understandably) salty about not being able to play so all they listen to is heresay. The game is fantastic

@@camfreed9829 I just hope so. When I get answers from people who've played the game, see fewer and fewer JP players streaming it, and people posting in other places that the game is boring and lacks fun meaningful content to do, and that you do nothing but farm the same monsters over and over again, and that dungeon bosses lack mechanics, it makes me, as someone who is looking forward to playing the game, to lean more towards the game might not be doing well. Even Aethersong, who was very passionate about the game and made so many videos about it, looks like he quit and rarely makes videos about it. Also, Aethersong doesn’t play a lot of games he used to play though. Go back and check his channel history. As a content creator, he’s going to mainly play a game because of the views, clicks, and engagement it will receive. He made Blue Protocol content on his channel for non JP players. That’s why he would translate. But since global has yet to reveal release plans his engagement took a hit so he was probably discouraged by that. I personally played the JP version as well for a long time, i only stopped due to frustration of not being able to use my oversea card to roll for the gacha (the outfits are just that great ; w ; ) in fear of getting banned xD rip but anyways i have not experienced what you are describing, i thinkit wildly depends on everyone's playstyle ! I personally always had a lot of things to do, the game was really fun ! Interacting with strangers was smooth and always fun interacting times using dances, emotes, stickers (even without needing to actually type in chat), people would help you if they saw you struggle to kill something or join your team to farm mobs together in the area ! I also played with a bunch of people from my community discord so it was a better experience than someone who plays solo and cannot speak/understand japanese at all ! Which imo means more that the experience wasn't as great because of language barrier than the actual game ! In my guild we spoke english between ourselves and avoided it in public chats and still enjoyed the game, everyone was hyped, we'd gather to do dungeons and raids, take lots of pictures. I really enjoyed all of it ! But yes, it was very grindy at the start and took a while to level up the second class, but it wasn't impossible and didn't take as long imo and they even fixed it since then 😇 Tldr/ the game was actually very fun to play, not boring, lots of things to do. It's especially great for people who enjoy playing with groups of friends ^~^ i'm sure it will do fine whenever it does release, especially that we will probably get all the content that came out slowly in JP version, so better to wait for a fuller experience ! It's just my personal experience and that of the 10~15 people i played with anyways 🥰 sorry for the long text ! i just thought it could help to add some details of the stuff i experienced since i realised not that many people got to play the game in JP !

Now imagine being a Namco exec, you spend a lot of money in production of an Anime MMO and have to be careful with monetization, meanwhile you could have spent just as much making high quality gacha game and made 100x the profit, all with monetization tactics the gacha community consider fair and very little people would complain.

At this point, I don't believe that it's all Amazon's fault that we have had no updates or anything. At the end of the day, Amazon is just the publisher. They are not the ones making the game it's still Bandai doing that. Whatever the hold up is has to be because of something Bandai is doing. The game must still not be where Bandai wants it to be for there to be no updates or anything. I've seen so many people say this is Amazon's fault, but hardly anyone is questioning Bandai, which is annoying. The last update to the western Twitter page was LAST AUGUST, and it was a repost. Every stream i tune into on twitch its just queuing up a dungeon or raid, killing strange looking mobs in an environment completely void of storytelling for 10minutes, then rinse and repeating - and then to top it off the complete lack of social dynamics in and out of dungeons is extremely lame.

There is just no way Blue Protocol is such a bad game.. it looks and feels really good and plays well too... there must be aspects to the game that are simply in need of a change... as you mentioned too FF14, it hat one really rough start but due to them activelly making changes that needed to be done its now one of the most successfull MMOs to date... a more recent example would be Containment Zone: Snowbreak... that game was at the brink of death until they made significant and relevant changes and now it seems to be thriving again (yes, the horny skins are part of the significant changes). Blue Protocol is too good to not be a thing, they just really need to remove that humangous stick up their butt and make relevant changes the player freaking desires. Small example was the additional skillbar.. it made huge positive impact and it was a hot topic from the beginning.. they just really took too long to make that "simple" but obviously highly needed change. I understand development is not easy as you say.. but exactly becouse it is the recources need to go towards important things and not "Oh we added foto mode".
