Some other things I didnt touch upon in the video. - Low Fps in main city I could get 100+ fps in field areas but around 30 in main city - No ultrawide support - I had no network issues to speak of but some players were reporting network issues when in parties

Thanks for being one of the few creators who both understood the gameplay and the Japanese text, while also being able to present it to a non-Japanese audience. Some creators were having mixed experiences due to them not being able to read Japanese. It made it hard to understand what the gameplay is like and what the progression is supposed to be like.

Thank you for the continued coverage, especially of some of the more critical aspects that I haven't seen many English language creators cover! To add to the discussion on spell weaver and class balance, I think they seem to have overbalanced skill CDs across the board (a whole other can of worms that I hope they address somehow since it leads to gameplay being really basic attack heavy rather than actually using the unique skills of each class). Since spell weaver is designed to use skills more often by trading CDs for EP management, they may have overvalued this (in line with that approach to skill CDs), resulting in overall spell dps being lower than it should be.

I think the compromise here needs to be in the directional inputs. Most classes don’t seem to have much significance to which input you do. Having each input be very defined with strong use cases would make them function more like unique skills and less like various flavors of auto attacking.

Another thing, I think they should try to have (later down the road) is something akin to Class Promotions that add an extra Skill Slot or 2 & also adds Class-Unique Traits {Passive Auto-Abilities that further define each Class from each other mechanically}

ty for all your testing and info. Another thing I've seen from other streams is that it doesn't seem too optimized especially in the town. I wonder if it's just streamers or the general player base not experiencing the best fps. The devs seem very quick to respond to feedback so I hope they can fix that in time because that can be a huge turn off for people (has definitely killed some very prominent mmo's in the past)

I forgot to talk about it in the video, but town performance isnt very good. I could get 100+ fps out of town, but in town around 30. Perhaps performance could be better with a better cpu. I would imagine it is something the developers are aware of.

00:43 Looks like to me your character=your class=your weapon. And upgrading weapon is a normal gacha gambling/buying process if i remember you saying in earlier videos. So its just a normal mmorpg gacha, where your roster is your weapons(=classes=units) and your pulls are your attempts at weapon upgrades.

About the Mana recharge, I remember seeing someone who charge EP with Right click half more than half a second full without the buff so probably a bug or it level up. Well that time the lvl cap was 37😅. Either I'm correct or wrong I do hope they get fixed. Thanks for the video and the translation while in game ❤🎉 thank you

They nerfed the Spell Weaver's damage by A LOT (around 40-50% loss overall) since the beta test. They DO need a nerf since they were one shotting everything with the fireballs and ice chunks, but around maybe 25% would be fine. They also increased the EP cost of pretty much everything from around 30 EP mostly to 35/40 EP; Blizzard used to cost 20 EP but in this test it cost 50. This means with 100 EP, you can only cast a spell 2 times instead of 3 before recharging. The Blast Archer basic attack got buffed super hard to the point where they are outdamaging pretty much everyone (maybe except the Heavy Smasher) by just shooting arrows. Their healing arrow got nerfed very hard though. They should make it so that the SW could recovery some EP when doing their basic attack, as well as some passive EP recovery (like when out of combat). Standing still and charging EP should still be faster however. Their damage needs to be buffed, but definitely not back to when fireballs/ice crush were hitting like trucks lol.

I feel like the Spell Weaver should be able to do higher damage compared to the Keen Strider considering the Spell Weaver lacks support skills and is immobile. Or at least comparible damage and larger elemental build up. Will be interesting to see how they balance the class. Having more viable spell options would also be nice.

I feel like outside of damage, spell weaver seems intended to be that way in concept. When other jobs have a cooldown on their skills, recharging EP is their "cooldown". But yeah, concepts are concepts, balancing is another issue in itself.

I absolutely understand the droprate problems. If there was anything in this game that bottlenecked me from progressing my combat score, it was those drop rates. Got to level 17, but I think about what if I just had better RNG while playing.

i personally think that spellcasters should always do the most damage, but have zero mobility/survivability. But this game doesnt really have a holy trinity so it doesnt matter i guess. However it does concern me that aggro generation is kinda iffy. I saw some gameplay where dungeons monsters just randomly jumped into the backline and oneshotted the mages/supports away, even if the Aegis Fighter tried to generate threat.

It would be nice if Auto-attacks (Normal Attack) could contribute to the EP regeneration, but that means the RMB (EP recharge) would be obsolute lol. I hope they find a solution for this problem tho

Not necessarily, they could buff it & then the Auto-Atk. Ep Regen is like a stacking bonus for short bursts of massive Dmg Hmm, 100Ep max, so let's say they have the Ep Regen ability Regen Ep at like 50 a tick every 4 sec.s for 32sec.s then your Autos say, 6-8 a hit. Could also have some kinda special Task/Class Quest system whereby specialty Class resources' Max Limits can be raised by small margins, say 10 a Quest, for each Class Quest stage you finish, which each MAJOR content drop adding 1-2 more stages, up to like 200Ep as the ultimate Max Limit.

does this game is trying to be a final fantasy 14-2? anyways, what i disliked on this whole ... imma call it "review" ... is that you didnt talked not even once about how badly the game will get censored for the western audience. its a really a horrible thing. the review seems to focus aswell more on "wether a class can do DPS or not" you focused way WAY too much on that one single point. it would´ve been enough to mentition that the spell weaver has issues in solo content due to its inmobility etc. but, you dragged that way too much out. probably because its your favorite? class.

A LOT of clothes got censored for the western audience. and btw. nothing in this entire review has anything to do with "network" because the whole open network test was to test the server stability but he reviewed the game. its aswell awesome how you ignored the rest but, i think DPS is very important in a network test o-o. so, fail on you POTTER.

Something like that is a simple buff. Allowing the class to move while casting would be appreciated but it wouldn't take 3 to 4 months, and for all we know that could be a future skill.

@@EchoBit yes and no! The proper content for NETWORK TEST should be focusing on lag, ping spikes, frame drop when in huge crowded (players) area. Raids, dungeons, hit delays, system-server performance/issues. Not whinning about his fav class being underpower at early stage of the game.

The developers have no control over what feedback our players will give, some players will care about their class while others will care about submitting crash or performance reports. When it comes time to submit feedback for yourself, obviously you'd do things differently to Aether and that's fine.

I didnt have any Network issues really to talk about. It seems like some players had issues with parties but I was mostly solo so I cant say. Also, game balance is important considering release is soon. Thats why the developers themselves have talked about a number of non network related problems they are looking to address from their own experience in the Network Test. Giving feedback about all aspects of the game is important to improve the game as a whole.

Hopefully the balance on the Keen Strider (formerly called Blast Archer before) for Healing & Dps are pretty good Also, the Dmg only being 8 per hit on the Spell Weaver might very well have been a typo in the part of the code that determines the Dmg Multiplier strength ... {My biggest fear is that Shamazon is going to RUIN the game with predatory bs X_X }

Amazon is bad for other reasons than p2w, they made lost ark much less p2w by removing certain things (legendary costumes that were gacha based and gave more stats) or changing to be free (like rerolling pet skills with premium currency). The issue I have had is their terrible player support and their inability to solve a bot issue in 2023 when even indie games do, the censorship was kinda annoying too, but honestly you can live with it and they still kept some of the good costumes. Keep in mind lost ark is still p2w because the original game is and having it not be would require a full rework of progression that would be impossible for a publisher, I quit because the KR version is balanced around p2w and unfortunately ours even with better features was still too much for me. Blue will probably be good, maybe some censor on costumes

Keen Strider was considered probably the best class in the Network Test. It had both good damage and support.
