Blue Ridge Rock Fest fans frustrated with long lines and delays

Some fans are having trouble getting to the site, waiting hours for shuttles

Hell yesterday it took us 4 hours to get on the shuttle and then another extra 2 hours to get into the concert because the line to get into the concert was just as long

Last year was a joke. Had 4 day VIP and we abandoned it after the first day of only seeing like 5 bands after getting to the parking lot at 1030 AM. This promoter should be banned from managing another festival.

Stood in line for 3.5 hours just to get into Will-Call and get my bands that I prepaid for months in advance. Good time, but a logistical nightmare

Personally i had a hour long issue on thursday and thats it. Everything else couldnt have been smoother the rest of the time. In my opinion everyone that had these big problems didnt plan properly. Besides that hill it was perfect for me

We were at orange lot and it never looked this bad longest wait was 1.45 hrs

If you got there early you wouldn't be standing in line so long. No matter where you go if everyone leaves at once your going to be waiting in a line. we made it into the venue by 12 every single day and never had any issues with anything. They updated set time changes everyday on facebook, updated shuttle service everyday, it seems those that are complaining are just doing so because they dont understand how festivals work. Ive been to a ton, ive never seen one run perfect and never had one where I didn't have to wait in line to get in or out. And you said in another post you were standing in the cold... it was in the high 60's... that's not cold... you have to come to these prepared for lines and stuff to go wrong. it happens. but if you buy your passes early, and get there early, you almost never experience the issues alot of people claim they were facing.

Get a campsite! You stay walking distance from the show. Not to mention you're missing out on festival experiences if you're not camping!

Every single festival you go to will have a wait time on entry. Showing up at noon or sooner on Wednesday if you're camping is a must. I went last year and had 0 problems other than the dust.

i was there, it was pretty bad for sure, the lines at will call the first day was complete BS, and could have been avoided. the shuttle from the event i didnt have to deal with, but i saw the lines at the end of the day, they went all the way down the road and zig zagged for hours and hours, i know ill never be going back to Blue Ridge, as the highlighted problems in this video werent even a concern for me personally, the poor sanitation throughout the campground and the festival were the worst ive ever seen at a music festival, not to even mention the hill you had to climb to get to the other stages, and once you get over the hill there is a field that is littered with holes and drop offs and dips, trying to navigate that at night with little to no light caused many injuries, i twisted my ankle the first day and decided not to go back to the far end and just staged at the main 2 stages, missing a ton of bands i paid to see. trash cans were few and far between,

My best friend and I got at the VA raceway around 10am, we were at the festival by shuttle at 11am when the gates opened. The wait was only an hour to get back to our cars that night. (10:30-11:30pm) Got to the hotel around midnight. Not a big deal like they are making it out to be - if you play your cards right and it's not your first rodeo ;)

Poor organization all around. It took me 3 1/2 hours to get in the first day and two hours the next day. They literally had no seating or shaded areas for people to sit on festival grounds. They didn’t even cut the grass- it was ankle high. To get to two stages you had to either go up or down a steep hill which was covered in straw. People were slipping and sliding everywhere. They stated the food would be affordable, it wasn’t, there was seriously French fries with cheese for $15. There was only one water refill station and one merch stand in the entire place. Also other festivals have other things to do or see besides music- this festival did not have anything. If none of the artist you came to see were playing and you didn’t have a camping pass, you were not allowed to leave so you had to just sit there, sometimes for hours. The real BS was the bands play time would get cut short if the sound guys took too long to get prepared. I didn’t even stay at the festival for all four days

They left the grass high that way it wouldn't be trampled into a dust pit. when you leave it high it creates a mat that last a few more days before it goes away completely like last year. we got to the blue lot evry day by 9 and was in the venue everyday by 12. other than the shuttle issue, I had no problems with anything else. There was expensive food, but there were also vendors that had food for as low as 8 dollars so if you chose the more expensive places, that's on you.

Yea… that was horrible😂 i was in line for 3 hours I ended up with sun poisoning and second degree burns from waiting so long, and my friend literally passed out in line😐

@@DrunkMercenary well were both really pale to begin with, sunscreen did nothing. It was direct sun with no movement in line so we everyone in line were basically rotisserie chickens. There were quite a few other people that fainted in line or was badly burnt. And no she doesnt drink.

Demand creates supply, as you saw with the huge increase in evening buses day over day. The reason there was no huge increase in morning buses is because people kept trickling in all day. The wait for Saturday to get in was about the same as it was to get out. If you came late, especially after waiting in line the day before, that’s on you.

this is the world we live in now, everyone expects real life to move at the speed of social media. get a campsite and look out for yourself. nobody wants to work so do not depend on any services but your own. The festival was great, bands were great, and it was all worth it.

Sounds like it needs to shut down. Then will there will be No bands to see No bands to make money and these local fans will have to go even further to see these bands. Sounds like a win-win for everybody. shut it down. 🤔🙄

Dont speak for everyone on this lol outside of the side gate having 1 metal detector thursday it couldnt have been smoother for me and my group, Never waited in line once to get in after day 1 and that was only a hour lol
