My son died of an opiate addiction. We used to listen to this song sometimes. It makes me cry but I always try to think he's in a better place than where he was at the end. BR was always one of my top favorite bands. Never got to see them live. Thank God for videos.

Were you really close to your son. I love my dad so much but he doesn’t show it and only tells me to work harder. And I can never be good enough. Just the words of good job son would be life changing for me. I have a 14 year old son and I hug him and tell him I love him 10 times a day. And he will come to me and give me a hug when ever he wants. A son is always looking for a pat on the back and a hug from their father.

The fact they remained under rated. Best served them in the end. They are comfy. And still enjoy the common things like playing hockey. They appreciate. That gives me joy. Billions in bank roll means nothing if you lose the little things. They know this. They are not an American failure. But a Canadian success. Perfect place to be. :)

they haven't left or retired. Blue Rodeo has been and still is (saw them Winter 2019 in Halifax) amazing live. I will say, you have a limited time to see these guys live. Age is the worst villain to quality. Drop the 75 bucks on the good seats (yup thats what i paid for floor seats) and enjoy. Sing your voice raw like i did and leave smiling and happy like you should from any concert. Of course do this after covid-19. god knows i will.

God... The snow and stubble, old farmhouse and crappy fences... if there's a better way of portraying the melancholy of a depressing rural winter in Canada I cannot imagine it. Yeah... I just don't know what to say... I watch this and I can literally smell stale cigarette smoke from 20+ years ago and feel the gut punch feeling of being unemployed and stuck broke living with my parents in the middle of nothing but white fields in every direction . The point is you made your feelings known, plus, it's a positive comment and that's a great thing, the Internet brings all of us a little closer together, that is the greatest hope we have of lasting as the human race. Whether you are Peruvian or any other place of origin, you will always be welcome to visit and in some instances stay in Canada, most of my Friends are all from other Countries, Canada is proud to have multi-cultural diversity at it's core. One of my most recent Friends, has his Mom who is Sirian and his Dad who is Lebanese, he is a Mechanic, married with 2 kids, with his Brother, who came with his Family when they moved to Ottawa,Ontario,Canada., they make a beautiful Family, I truly enjoy anytime I get to be with these people because it is very easy to see that they all care and Love each other, for me, it does my heart good to be around them, the Love they have for each other is easy for anyone to see, so, it's fun for me to see how they behave around each other, plus, I have tremendous happiness to be able to count them amongst my Friends. That's 1 tiny example of what being alive and living life is really about, at least in my eyes and my way of thinking. Please do consider coming to visit our fantastic Nation, possibly even here in Ottawa, Our Nation's Capital City, there's always something fun to do, in the Downtown Area, there's a Festival for every season, one of my favorites, is the Springtime Festival, from roughly the middle of April until June, called, " The Tulip Festival ", along the Canal Parkway, there are hundreds Of thousands of Tulips planted. Thousands are added every year, as an example, by The Dutch People, to say thank you, for protecting their Royal Family, who were marked for extermination during the last world war, thus, both Countries are gleefully proud of this heritage and adding to the Tulip Display Yearly exhibits that pride of doing the right thing for all of the World to behold and remember. Please Consider Coming To Visit, My Sincerest Best Wishes, from A Proud Canadian, Bob.

It doesn't matter where I have seen Blue Rodeo, but they always let the audience fill in on this song. It's almost like a test: if you know the lyrics you are a Canadian. Cuddy and Keelor are Canadian treasures. Greg reminds me so much of my father-on-law, who was also a Cape Bretoner.

A song that impacted me when I was coming of age, but didn't really understand how... and now that I'm 41, I can see what it meant years back. Real emotion and feeling that it extracted from my creative self. Writing and expression has to come from the true self - never manufactured for commercial publicity. Expression of real emotion, and a truly inspirational Canadian band. Love it!

I've been living in the Dominican Republic for five years now. Every now and then I'll go through the Canadian classics and get goosebumps, sometimes a little misty. But that line about transfixing on the snow falling through the light of a streetlamp? Every time I hear it I can smell the snow, i can taste the flakes, I can feel them hitting my face, getting caught in my eyelashes. The Dominicans like to say to me "I bet you don't miss the snow eh?" I just laugh and agree, but when I listen to this song I realize how wrong they are.

Canadians know what snow falling SOUNDS like. It's a rare, almost unbelievable ability. We don't brag about it, partially because we don't want to be looked at as if we're totally nuts, but also partly because it's a talent that we can take a little of that quiet pride in.
