We dined at the Blue Rooster on the 28th October. I hate to talk. Ad about any restaurant but you asked me to let you know what we thought about the food.Fried chicken was one of the specials this evening. The chicken breast we had was not completely cooked, the meat was red next to the bone. The Brest my wife had was tough she couldn’t eat it. Her fried green tomatoes were greasy and cold, she couldn’t eat them. The fried okra was good so was the cornbread. The dark meat chicken was good. Thursday night we went back for the fried pork chops, they were delicious. I ordered mashed potatoes and gravy and sweet potato casserole as my two sides and fried onion rings were to come with my pork chops. They were out of the onion rings so they decided to substitute them with “mashed potatoes “. Now I had pork chops, mashed potatoes x2 and sweet potato casserole. My wife had the turkey and dressing she said it tasted like it came out of a box. My pork chops were delicious although overall we did not enjoy either meal either night. Sorry it turned out this way, but for the price of food here I was expecting better food.

I am glad to know that the pork chops were very good, as that is something I was considering getting if I went back the next time. So, thank you for letting me know about that. Our fried green tomatoes were actually really good, and were not cold. I'm sorry that happened to you both. They seemed like very nice people, and I'm not sure if you brought this to their attention or not, but I feel like they might have tried to make it right. Also, I'm sorry that the white meat chicken wasn't good. I will remember that if we go back, to try and get something else. I think I would like to try the steak, or the pork chops. But yes, I did want to know of your experience. Thank you for coming back and giving us a very detailed explanation of what you liked and what you didn't. That is helpful for us and other viewers, on future visits there.

@vafunseekers Yes, Clyde is a very small town. It's very close to Maggie Valley and Waynesville. We never knew about this restaurant until a viewer who lives in that area mentioned it to us. We really enjoyed it.

This is Sharon Woodham, we seen you in Maggie Valley yesterday. I love Blue Rooster!! I wanted to go there Friday night for prime rib, but we went to J Arthur’s which was great also!

Yes, we LOVE J. Arthur's! That is our Christmas go-to place, because it is decorated so beautifully. We are so glad you both pulled off at the overlook and we got to meet you.

We go to Blue Rooster about once a month. Its always delicious. We've never been let down. We'd go more often but its so expensive we can't afford to splurge more than that. Mom loves their coconut cake so much that I buy her a whole one for her birthday every year. I get the North Georgia chicken tenders about every time we visit. They're the best tenders I've ever had. They must brine them because the flavor and juiciness is off the charts! Thanks for another great video. Y'all do good work for Volunteer fans! ;-)

@@David-i1p Yes, I remember that. I believe it was when we camped in Cherokee, at Indian Creek Campground. We were going to stop back by there on that Saturday, only to find out they were closed on Saturdays. It's been tough to get back up on a weekday, but we finally made it last night. Thank you for the great recommendation! We will definitely be returning.

Fried pork chops!! We’ll be 35 minutes from there next week. I’ll check on what night they have the pork chops and make a point to be there. May have to eat there Thursday night and Friday night 😋. Malonie (pardon if spelling is wrong) may need to move to the south so she can enjoy her grits every day 😊. I always pick up a few pounds of the stone ground grits from the Ole Mill in Pigeon Forge. Great show

It's the only one that I know of. I know Chick-fil-A closes on Sunday, which I have a lot of respect for them doing that. And, I like the fact that this restaurant does let their employees have weekends. If they can make enough money throughout the rest of the week to do that, hats off to them. But it is very unusual. We were going to try it on our way back through from camping earlier this year, but it was on a Saturday. I was surprised to find out they were closed then.

We have not been there, as we generally don't go out to eat seafood in the mountains. I have heard that it is good, though. We just usually like BBQ or something like J. Arthur's when we're there. Occasionally, we do go for Italian there. I only got the shrimp and grits here, because the sauce sounded so good. But someone else also mentioned the seafood place you named, and they also liked it.
