Thank you for posting this video. I want to use these panels in a portable solar powered battery bank. Every watt matters in this setup, so I don't want those LED drawing current at any time.

Interesting series of videos. I picked up a few details I missed by watching both episodes. I'm in the process of installing the 4 gang version of this panel in a 15' Boston Whaler. The boat has no protection from the weather and salt spray. I have a couple of questions and a remark. Can you share the relay particulars? What is the make and model number of the relay you are using? Where did you shop for it? Does it come with the base? And finally, is the relay designed for marine use? I just have one remark, I'm pretty sure I understand your concept (thank you for sharing this, it's helpful) but it would have been good to have a simple hand drawn wiring diagram, maybe just a photo of it. Thanks again for posting the videos.

Hi Frank, the relay is an iRhapsody waterproof 12V relay from Amazon that I already had laying around. It is listed as B074FSZWVT . It came with the harness. I haven't looked around much but if you have time to buy a name brand one, that would probably last longer. Thanks for the feedback

New to wiring. To confirm, the rest of the switches still operate without that ground because the accessories have their own independent ground?

Yes, the switches on the panel only break/complete the positive connection. The ground spade on the switch panel is just to allow those LED indicators to run

Just install a blue sea switch to power the panel.
