SOWING INSTRUCTIONS
You need to break the dormancy and increase the likelihood of
germination with cold stratification:
Soak the seeds in warm water for a 24-48 hour period
Dry and place your seeds onto a damp paper towel, folding two or three times over to ensure the seeds are covered
Put the paper towel and seeds into a zip-lock, and then place into a refrigerator for 4-6 weeks
Once the seeds have broken their dormancy:
Sow very thinly in trays or pots of moist, peat-based seed compost, lightly cover with compost and seal inside a polythene bag
Separate the seedlings once they begin to sprout into pots

Great video, thank you for taking the time!! My only input would be the sand for stratification, which is fine. But you say you'd like to keep the temperature as stable as possible. I find, the closer I mimic nature, the better the results. To me, in nature temperatures fluctuate. For example, sun up & down etc. Rock on 🤘

Hello, thanks for your comment.I live tropical climate.Some days we get power cuts. In those cases the refrigerator turns off and Then the seeds reach 25-30°C.Then the wet sand keeps the seeds cool for a considerable time.Seeds should generally be maintained at 1-5°C during cold stratification.That's why I use wet sand.

Hi @kalana remember me? The one commented before on your first journey with blu spruce? I am successful in my first attempt. I cold stratify the seed for a month and put them in the seedling trays with cocopeat, garden soil and cow's manure. It's been 12 days since i planted them and i am succescul with the journey. I got seedling sprouting and excited for them to grow :)

Glad to hear about your Blue Spruce seed germination. Be careful because sometimes seedlings can rot. I apply fungicides about once every three days. I'm so happy to hear about your success👌😃🌲
