@@shroomsrus5116 when removing the tick with tweezers, you need to grip it quite hard for the tweesers to grip, you generally grab behind the head and doing so can crush the arachnids head, neck and back, although not always noticeable you can break a ticks neck, and or causing pretty bad injuries to the tick. Though not always, it is a very good chance something like that had killed the arachnid.

Blue tongues even hunt down some species of snake. I've seen wild ones nomming on some red belly blacks. As pets, they are super interactive and curious. Absolute sweethearts. I love skinks. We just called them Blue tongues or bluies (spelling) and they are indeed pretty common in Australia, especially in rural areas. Often enough, some homes will get an unintentional pet out of them and they are nice to see every now and then. Don't harm us in anyway and probably keep the bugs and whatever else they eat down to a lower level. Cats and dogs tend to kill them, but when you get to know them, they are lovely lizards who I SWEAR know which house has the friendly people and food on occasion.

I mean not really... Ticks are animals too just like the skink and are just trying to survive how they have evolved to. You bring up your god for some reason when he supposedly designed ticks to latch onto other creatures like this in the first place... sigh.. arent these all your god's creatures?
@clairealexander13466 жыл бұрын
I would agree with your last sentiment. I certainly am grateful that the ticks got a chance to live as well. I should mention that I am also a vegetarian - I love and respect all creatures.
@alexc14856 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you respect all creatures. I'm more just highlighting that it makes no real sense to be happy that he removed the ticks, because in order to survive, the tick needs to latch on to other animals like this. Now removed from this skink, the tick will only go and find another skink or some other organism to latch on to. If it doesn't it will die. Such is the brutal survival-of-the-fittest world of nature, and certainly not something any benevolent creator would design. If a god exists that designed all these creatures, he certainly won't be blessing Coyote for interfering with his maniacal, foul designs where organisms must make each other suffer in order to survive.

I love how in most situations we as nature lovers let the animals eat each other if that is indeed their nature, but when it comes to parasites we will always take the side of animals being preyed on. He may not have killed the ticks but he took away their current food supply which you would never see him do with any other animal type. I don't blame him either as I am also on the non parasite side but I just think it's an interesting observation.

6:37 Actually these guys can drop their tails as a last-resort defence mechanism. I've seen one drop its tail after being attacked by a kookaburra.
@paulaedwards23273 жыл бұрын
Yes I come to the comments to see if anyone had corrected him. They can lose their tails. It's a defence mechanism to get away from any danger.

We have millions of these where I grew up in Perth. Every couple of weeks the dogs would corner one, occasionally they killed it but quite often they ran away yelping with a big ol lizard bite of their nose. I don't think those things have teeth but their bite is like a vice grip.
@Coraki7 жыл бұрын
Like Ravi (the red panda at the Australian Zoo) when he chased a water dragon for 20 minutes only for it to bite him on the nose and made him run up a tree.

Coyote is correct in calling them skinks, but for those complaining: “Blue-tongued skinks comprise the Australasian genus Tiliqua, which contains some of the largest members of the skink family (Scincidae). They are commonly called blue-tongued lizards or simply blue-tongues or blueys in Australia.”

WAIT YOU CAN HAVE PET SKINKS
@devydev31123 жыл бұрын
@@Robinsaccount460 Yea, They are full of personality and rather easy to maintain as they eat mainly dog food with extra greens on the side. Australian breeds are guaranteed captive bred because of their animal protection laws as well, so that takes care of the worry of a wild caught is off your shoulders. I have 2, all it took was keeping one to make me fall in love with these goofy sausages.
