I always thought the Yeti sounds really muffled, especially on high frequencies. It's not as clear and crisp as other microphones I've heard, even my Blue Spark Digital. I just picked up the G-Track Pro today at Walmart for only $97, and I'm not disappointed in the least!

I purchased the Samson G Track Pro over a year ago for acoustic and electric guitar and voices on GarageBand recordings. I am very pleased with the sound and quality and simplicity. Less things to mess with when you want to sit down and create quickly. Thanks for the review!

I own both microphones. For most podcast recording I'll typically use the RE320 or the SM58 because my recording space is less than ideal. I find the Samson G-Track Pro a touch more sensitive to background noise, but whether you use the G-Track Pro or the Yeti do everything you can to soften the room tone. Like virtually all condenser microphones, if your room lacks carpeting and other sound dampening items, expect some amount of echo and elevated ambient noise. One plus for the Yeti is Logitech G-Hub software now works on the regular Blue Yeti, meaning you can use presets or adjust EQ and other filters as you stream or record.

You can use de-noise and de-verb VST plugins live or recorded if needed. Waves Clarity can take the noise out or iZotope RX9's been great for me.

When Covid hit and I started spending more time in online meetings, I upgraded from an old Blue Snowball to the G-Track Pro. The slightly better specs and features sold me over the Yeti. I did buy a sturdy Samson boom arm to mount it. To my ear the Yeti is just a bit brighter than the G-Track Pro. Neither is exceptional sounding but both are clear enough. All that said, my go-to mic for zooming these days is an ATR 2100X which I bought used, cheap. It is good enough for my uses and cuts down on ambient sound. Anyway my vote is for the G-Track Pro. Good vid. Thanks!

Great comparison, great job on the video! I have a noobie question if you don't mind, at the end of the video you mentioned needing a beefy arm for the Samson. I just bought one and it's my first time using a mic like this, can I just buy any arm? Like is the mounting universal or does one have to find one which is specifically compatible with the Samson? There aren't too many options to choose from where I live and I'm a bit lost.

I actually intended to buy the Yeti, but my husband beat me to a purchase. He bought me the Samson G-track Pro for Christmas. I absolutely love it! I’m actually having to replace it now because my dog got caught up in my headphones cord and stripped the jack.😢

The yeti is still good and one of the OG in the beginner microphone options but the G Track Pro is just too OP in comparison.

Great comparison... What is yours (of the viewers) opinion about GTP VS Wave 3? Gathering info to start streaming as a hobby and was wondering what people thought... Right now the GTP is about $60 cheaper

I respectfully disagree on "modernization" of USB ports on mics. If a mic has to be USB, I actually prefer USB type B. USB C is nice and convenient, but also smaller, and more easily broken. I get it for a cell phone where you have to keep things small, but for a mic, give me a CHONKY port when available!
@joseg87472 жыл бұрын
Exactly! This guy seems nice, but come on bro lol. Virtually all DACs that you find in the market use USB B too, he's thinking of the standardization of of modern tech but of modern phones, modern laptops. Actual audio gear is still tilting towards USB B, XLR interfaces etc.

I'm recording a band, so I went with the Samson G Track Pro. For the Cardioid. It will be placed on stage to capture the crowed backing vocals :)

Is the G-track pro sound raw? yours sounds so much smoother than mine which picks up so much background noise, it's almost unusable.
@DarkCornerStudios2 жыл бұрын
My audio is always raw. Try turning the gain down and getting closer to the mic. Generally the extra crappy sound can get filtered out by doing that.

I’ve yet to own a blue yeti. But I have the G Track Pro. The G Track is absolutely amazing! The only problem I have is the weight. The mic weighs a ton. But other than that, it should get 5 stars.

I prefer the Neet King Bee... But that is XLR so then I prefer the Presonus Revelator Dynamic (the onboard effects are hard to beat for USB under $200). Between the given options??? The Samson by a Mile.
@francismcgovern50422 ай бұрын
I think it's pretty clear the Yeti is better....but the price difference is enormous! Samson is clearly the better value, the Blue Yeti the better microphone
