That is an answer to another of my questions. How come not very many people will give a thumbs up, not only on your Chanel but on most. It cost nothing and it helps to put the channels you like in front of everyone. Thanks Charlie.

@@BlueBearFlutes thanks Charlie. A few weeks ago my Girlfriend was trying to make a flute for her Daughter. So I looked up how to make one using just a knife and hacksaw. And you was the best pick. I honestly don't know much about flutes or the sounds they make but I followed your instructions to the tee. But the sound is off. My question is. Would it be possible to send it to you and have you tune it ? I would definitely pay for it of course but I would like to have your signature burned into it if possible. If so send me a email.

He was a rescue. We literally rescued him from a hardware store parking lot where he was hiding from the rain behind someone's tire! I had envisioned it going terribly so we grabbed the little guy and brought him home (about 4 weeks old at the time).

@@BlueBearFlutes You are good hearted people Charlie and Jessie, yes I know the feeling I did have 4 rescued cats, but 2 have passed on, just 2 girls now, and they find their people, they know! I have been binge watching your video's for the last couple of days, my DH passed and made flutes, so I have all these blanks of wood everywhere, and I have many flutes he made and we got from Flute Festivals, but am out of that loop so not sure when the festivals are on anymore, but I may try my hand at making a flute out of bamboo or the like, after watching your video's, thanks again for sharing with us all! Much Blessings!

as always a great video, I have your book and have already made very low tone flutes such as low G# with a slightly larger bore than 1inch by using your measurements and sliding them south, thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Thanks for letting me know you figured that out Philip! That was definitely one of the little "Easter eggs" in my book that I hoped everyone would find. Excellent work on making the low G! That is a feat within itself. Keep up the good work my friend.

Cool, I found answers to my questions just by watching, listening, observing. Most answers if not all are in the other video's. I say to my family to check out Blue Bear Flute making. In hopes to gain brother back as sonething do. Make flutes and write plays or tell stories with music to bring out the exprsions. It a great privaledge to watch and learn. Sincerly, Alvin.

Video suggestion: How to extend the length of the Flute by using 4 Direction holes. Some flutes like your Elderberry look Great with extended length. -Bob. Athens. GA
@forestweston50553 жыл бұрын
I’m curious as to why you didn’t set your bottom note (overall length of the flute) before you tuned your holes. Wouldn’t your hole tuning be more accurate if your base note (tonic) was set first?
@BlueBearFlutes3 жыл бұрын
In this video, I'm taking an existing pattern and using it to show how to extrapolate a pattern for a flute to be made of a slightly different size material. In the tuning process, I always tune the bottom note (all holes covered) first. Where I began burning holes at 20:30, I was not actually tuning the flute. That doesn't take place until around 27:30.

Another great video! I've bought some of your "bear fat" in the past and I wonder if you have any plans to sell that magic oil?
@RustyGunn75 жыл бұрын
I bought his "immitation" bear fat, in a small tub. Very good stuff. I got it off his website. (I hope this is what you're referiing to.)
@RenaissanceMan9295 жыл бұрын
@@RustyGunn7 no, as I said, I have also bought the imitation bear fat, and yes it is very good stuff. I am referring to the oil he initially dribbles down into the flute.
@mrbrown64215 жыл бұрын
@@RenaissanceMan929 - The 'dribbled' oil is mentioned on another video as Sunflower oil. I doubt it will go rancid since the wood absorbs it, but if that is a concern you can dilute it with lemon juice. Also, walnut oil or cheap olive oil will work. Do NOT use virgin olive oil. As usual... THANKS FOR THINKING!
