What does everyone like to do with their wild game at the butcher shop?? What should I try next time?

@@skyedge6158 I butcher my own , but occasionally I take my grind scraps to Butcher Boys in Vancouver Washington and have them make a big batch of pepperoni , then I cut them and beak them down in small packages and vacuum seal em , freeze em and give em away as gifts and I have pepperoni to throw in my backpack all year

@@skyedge6158 I also have taken my ground game.. even duck , and mixed 1:1 with bulk breakfast sausage from the local meat department , makes great burgers/patties for anything.. breakfast or just sandwiches: make a big batch and break it down into small packages and freeze

we butcher everything ourselves except moose. bear we typically just prefer ground meat, makes for some crazy good burgers when mixed with a bit of pork.

You should try meat cubes next time or butcher it yourself and get the cuts you want! Braised cubes make for the most amazing bear meatpies in the world! Have you ever made bear chili with your ground? Berry bear hunting is honestly the best. And most sustainable hunt ever of one of the coolest animals in our beautiful country! Cheers from region 8!

Dude that's awesome, Your gains will be unreal with the wild game meat, man, i wish i could hunt more for meat. The best I can do is grass fed until the freezer is full with game meat again.. awesome videos. My goal is to put out some BC hunting content out, this province is absolutely unreal. 👍

Bear fat is the best for baking pastries.. also makes great boot grease when mixed with mink oil.

I'm looking forward to cooking and baking with it! I rendered some oil and mixed it into the ground and it was delicious!

Better part of hunting is doing it yourself. I'd definitely give it a go sometime. Way more rewarding imo.

That’s fair. For me, at the end of a trip, it’s really nice to be able to drop it off with a pro. They do such a good job and packaged nicely makes for good gifts for friends and family. If I had a bigger place with a garage I’d love to try doing it myself. Perhaps down the road.

@skyedge6158 Definitely makes it easier and I do when I'm in a pinch. It just adds to the cost of things these days. I would agree that you need the space for it, though. When you do, I'd highly suggest giving it a go. Made a ton of sausage and jerky last year, I can't wait for my moose draw. Enjoying the content, I'll be watching more.

@skyedge6158 Successful hunt. Small bull first morning 15 min into the hunt. Then, 6 days later, we found a nice a 44" bull. Just did a day of butching. Hopefully your hunts have been awesome as well.

Do you process any big game yourself?
@skyedge61584 ай бұрын
I have not. I’ll often keep the heart and bring that straight home. Tenderloins too. But I have an apartment so it’s not super easy to do at home.
