Great Vid! Good to see all the game activity under your stand and on your cams. Good on you to do the follow up and collect your harvest. One thing to pay attention to, is the angle of the shot. The steeper the angle , the higher on the side of the game animal you have to aim to get the vitals with your shot. I liked to be about 15 feet up and make a 20 to 30 yard shot. And yes I got busted by them seeing me move sometimes. Or hearing me. It was great to watch your adventures this year and will be waiting to watch again next year. You are a true mentor of our hunting sport sir. Cheers!

love the hunt your vids always get me excited just curious not mu just region for white tail and is baiting deer in bc legal ive red the regs and what ive red baiting is not legal but some parts of the regs are contiversal. ??? i have 10 gallons of sugar cane syrup i bought thinking it was legal then read different so can i use my sugar cane syrup or not ??? I know baiting bear is illegal in b.c.
@skyedge61585 күн бұрын
Hey thanks for watching . Glad you enjoy the vids. You are correct that baiting for bears would be illegal, but nothing preventing you from putting out bait for deer. They may or may not even be attracted by the baits, depending on time of year or availability of other food sources in the area. Put out a camera and experiment. I would be curious to hear what you see !

What a hunt and a beautiful hunting spot. I’ve done a little high country snow bow and rifle hunts over the years and this video brings back some good memories and some cold ones,lol. One thing we had was an old Army artic weather insulated tent. It was like 15 ft in diameter. Had double igloo door type entrance so to trap the heat inside. Had a very small stove we built for wood or propane and it was easy to get warm and keep it T-shirt warm. Had another like it that was our kitchen. These were medical tents designed to zip them together to form a field hospital. We could go from the sleeping tent straight into the kitchen tent. These were awesome for any weather. They were pretty dang heavy like 150#’s each but with four to six guys it went up in like 2 hours total. Enjoyed your video and good luck! 👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I'm glad you found it. I think it requires practicing target shooting from a tree stand or from a cliff to replicate that shooting angle. It's something I plan to practice in the future. But you got it done - congrats!
@skyedge61589 күн бұрын
Fair point. One could believe that 20 yards is 20 yards but shooting from elevation changes the way you need to align your body. A tough thing to practice but I plan on putting a lot more arrows down range next year to make sure I am as prepared as possible.

Great video as always brother! Thanks for showing the difficult moments and glad you tracked that doe all the way! ! I really think you should butcher your smaller deer though. I would understand if someone has the money to support local game cutters on bigger game and if you have a busy schedule, but it's so freaking rewarding and empowering to learn to do it all yourself! Third year doing it and couldn't feel more fulfilled. My lesson of the year is to think twice before calling a Conservation Officer when you know there is poaching in your area and wish to see conservation justice happen, as petty government sanctioned anti-hunting environmental agents will actually turn on legal hunters, and will literally treat you like you're the criminal while you're the one who called them. Felt pretty terrible to be treated like that while you're doing everything by the book and some. But that's Beautiful British Columbia... Can't have the beautiful wildlife and freedom in the outdoors without the occasional pettiness from our civil servants ("It's just normal procedure", I was told lol)! Anyway, two deer, one bear here... Cannot be more grateful and blessed for this season to feed family and friends. Now maybe time to go after a big kitty... Keep it up buddy!

Wow great season !! Sorry to hear about that experience with the CO. I’ve run into a few in the bush over the years and were all very reasonable and even helpful. So maybe you just got a guy having a bad day. Anyways congrats on the animals this season well done 👍🏻

You should try meat cubes next time or butcher it yourself and get the cuts you want! Braised cubes make for the most amazing bear meatpies in the world! Have you ever made bear chili with your ground? Berry bear hunting is honestly the best. And most sustainable hunt ever of one of the coolest animals in our beautiful country! Cheers from region 8!
