here's my little blueberry story: in 1988, i was diagnosed with MS. my neurologist warned me that people would come out of the woodwork with remedies for a cure. my boyfriend at the time heard on some radio talk show that blueberries could cure MS. he stopped at the grocery store & bought every blueberry product the store had. i had muffin mix, blueberry soda, pie filling - everything including fresh & frozen blueberries. he had asked the store to show him every blueberry product they had. now he knew it wasn't a cure, but he said "just in case." how could you not love a man that would do that?

You can try using Almond flour and monk fruit (or Splenda) to replace sugar. This helps make it a bit better for us diabetics. Hope this helps! 😉🌺Jen

Blueberries are my favorite next to pineapple. I am Ojibway native american of Ont. Canada. As a child, i would climb up the hills and pick blueberries for hours. Starberries is another name. Blueberry dumplings my grandma would make way back when i was a child also. Love the blueberry episodes yum 😋

I know the dumplings were the big fluffy ones n not flat. Made her own homemade blueberry sauce with whole berries in it as well in which she would simmer in. I'm talking like 50 yrs ago. But i still remember how they tasted n how delicious they were. I will have to ask my mom, I'm sure she would know. ❤

Love this recipe. The cake reminds me a bit like a “Van Gogh” cake I grew up with. It is done with pudding and a cake mix. It is the cake of choice to bring when we are invited to someone’s home. I am going to make this loaf cake this week. Even though it is make a little different I am sure it will taste just as good. I might put a little glaze on the bottom of the cake also. Yum!!! I answered your question from yesterday and got the State of Maine for the wild blueberries but had no clue which state produces the cultivated blue berries. I was making this recipe for my mother-in-law. She lives in an assisted living facility. So I made muffins and put sanding sugar on top. I used small blueberries. They are fabulous!

Native Americans called blueberries “star berries” because the blossom end of each berry - the calyx - forms a perfect fivepointed star. The Great Spirit was said to have sent “star berries” to ease the children’s hunger during a famine. And according to legend, Native Americans gave blueberries to the pilgrims to help them make it through their first winter. Native Americans dried blueberries in the sun and added them whole to soups, stews and meat, and crushed them into a powder to use on meat as a preservative.
