How long it takes to root?

I have been searching for blueberry propagating videos, and am wondering about success rate? Would love to see how these guys are doing. Currently building a small misting house which I would like to propagate berries and roses in, so its great to get more knowledge from another's perspective. Love the content and keep it up.

We had a 70% rooting percentage on these. They were potted into quart containers and are now outside in the nursery.

Great video,but would love if you could redo it with your updated knowledge and better camera. Tough to hear anything your saying

The cell trays you are using for propagation look sturdy. What's the brand/manufacturer? Thanks BTW - I had no problem hearing you.

Thanks for this video! I’m wondering if you can share what your rooting hormone recipe is?
@ryanmerck99703 жыл бұрын
I used Dip N Grow diluted to 3000 ppm. That’s 3 parts hormone and 7 parts water.

Nice video, though, overwhelming background noise. Have a few questions for you. - What kind of potting material do you use? - How often do you water them after propagating? - Does temperature affect propagation success rate? If so, what is the optimal condition? Thanks

Aloha Aloha, I use Fafard germination mix and then add some addition perlite for most cuttings. www.sungro.com/professional-product/fafard-germination-mix/ I also have a mist system setup in the greenhouse and I adjust the frequency depending on the season. During the summer I ran the mist 5 times for 2 minutes spread out over the course of the day. The goal is to keep humidity high but trying to keep the soil as dry as possible. This reduces transpiration stress while limiting pathogens that could affect the stem. An ideal temperature would be warm soil (70-85f) with cool air (50-65F). This encourages rapid root development while not stressing the cutting through increased transpiration. The blue mat on the bench is a heat mat that is set on a thermostat placed in the tray. This helps raise the soil temperature above air temperature. I definitely agree about the sound quality. I'll have to work on that for future videos.

do you use bottom heat?
@ryanmerck99704 жыл бұрын
Yes, the blue mat if a heat mat. We usually keep the soil at 70-80 degrees depending on what we have on the mat at the time.
