Yeah, don't waste your money on the expensive chain. Deore if Shimano, or gx if sram. I carry 4 quick links with me at a time.

@venacava_mtb I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I try not to shift under load, but I go through a chain around every 200 to 300 miles.

Yeah, it's not so much checking it with a chain checker as it is just twisting and cracking. I visually check it before I lube it.
