Best practice for BlueBrixx trains is to discard the wheels and axles. And replace them with Lego wheels and 40 x 2 mm axles you can get from the big A for example. The Lego wheels are much quieter and have proper toe baring tips. The BB axles are a bit shorter than the required 40 mm. I haven't tried BB sets with the new wheels though.

I've always said you can't beat the value even if you have to replace the wheels. Hopefully I'll have a chance soon to try wheels from a few sources and see if any can compare to official Lego. My hopes aren't high though

In my experience with 3rd party wheels, you can fiddle around with the exact placement of the wheel on the axle. That doesn't solve the resistance, but it takes care of the derailing issues

The perfect box car has eluded me, I do lime the room on the bluebrixx model.

Cool door design with tiles and teeth to go into the rails.

i had a similar problem with some wheels i got from aliexpress where the width of the assembled axle was too narrow. I 'fixed' them by pushing the wheels outward toward the frame then checking on the track that they were spaced at the right width. My best guess is the hollow where the metal axle should go was made about 1~2mm too deep so when fully pressed in the width would end up too narrow for the train track.

The green car looks like a old German caboose

it is one

Nope! Is not! It is a typical german Reichsbahn‘s (DRG) luggage van/wagon from the time between the world wars.

US wagons don't have side buffers?

To be fair, Bluebrixx have their own Tracks, and on them their wheels are working great😉

Really? A different gauge than Lego? That's got to cause problems.
@BatteryPoweredBricksКүн бұрын
In my experience the tracks are identical to Lego tracks
@BatteryPoweredBricksКүн бұрын
I have some of their tracks and still had the same problem. Idk if I got a bad batch or what. Some wheel arrangements will have more issues than others

@@BatteryPoweredBricks Some measurement results regarding straight tracks (track gauge / inside dimension): 37.45 - 37.50 mm BB / Aliexpress / China made tracks 37.85 mm TrixBrix / LEGO made tracks My experiences: Replace the BB axles with 40 mm axles, use LEGO train wheels and you will be fine. The BB axle holders work good for me, the LEGO ones are better, but the difference is not that big.

14:37 you're not going crazy - if you look closely at the wheelset that you're touching at 14:17 then you'll see that it's too short 😢

@BatteryPoweredBricks if I were still into lego trains as I was when I was a kid I'd be in heaven. The prices where unbelievablely cheap. Also all the military vehicles and naval war ships ect where very cool

Could the actual build of the green wagon be causing the wheel base to stretch out causing the derailments?
@BatteryPoweredBricksКүн бұрын
The wheels themselves fell between the rails, I don't think there is any fixing that. I played with them a bit but never got them to work well

Great looking wagons! Especially the difficult to build hopper lol. The new wheels are kind of a shame…

I've heard from others they use GoBricks primarily for their bricks. I've actually done an interview with one of their Jr. Social Media Managers if you want to learn more about the company. When I asked about where their bricks come from he just said "it depends on the part / color" so I don't think they are all from the same source.
@eagle30032 күн бұрын
@@BatteryPoweredBricks For some sets, they use GoBricks. The sets I have are definitely not GoBricks. For their Star Trek sets, they use Xingbao bricks, not sure about the trains.
