The timing alone is nuts. They had to simplify a couple things in that section but it made it work better anyway thematically. Bloo is almost always the one trying something never been done to push the limits. Then everyone else does it the following year. Trend setters!

Amazing show once again. “Bloooo” have been at the lead in innovation for the past decade or so. “Riffs and Revelations” in my most humble opinion, raised the bar so much in terms of how much I enjoyed a field show, and I don’t understand how it didn’t win (but I’m not a trained judge). I’d compared it to when I binged all of Breaking Bad and felt it was a good, that when I tried binging anything else (sons of anarchy), it felt kind of a downgrade from that as good as it was. Eventually I did end up getting into sons of anarchy, but it took me a while. Maybe I’ll grow into this show, but holy smokes do I still like to see riffs and revelations.

I was also at this show. I was up underneath the overhang right under the Cleveland Clinic sign (about 20-25 yard line). All of the groups were fantastic (even the ones that sadly had to perform standstill), but this show even if the visuals were absent would've still carried the whole show ong. I actually got to meet the flugelhorn soloist before the show bc we got there rly early. My friend and I were the second group in line to get into the show, bc we got there at like 4:15, so we even got to see a bit of the Bluecoats warming up within the stadium. Absolutely wonderful experience for sure. I'm so pumped to go back this year for the show. The lineup is way too good, and being a trumpet player myself, having the opportunity to witness God's Hornline first hand is a dream come true. That's why we're getting closer seats this year, so I can truly experience it

Can't stand the narration. This has been my complaint with Bluecoats over the past 2 years. I think a little is manageable but I feel like they use it way too much and it takes focus away from the really complex playing that they're doing. Lots of cool/complicated rhythmic stuff and the "bump" section is a bass #5's dream.

idk i really like what they’ve been doing with it. i feel like the entire thing makes the music more impactful, like at 3:59 i will agree that the repetition kind crosses the line however. but listening to it a couple times, i’ve come to like it overall. i feel like they get their audio in and then during the important musical moments they get out of the way and focus on the music, like in the opener, ballad, and bump section. i’ve only come to enjoy dci recently in the past 2-3 years though so that might be why. idk lol, that’s just my thoughts on it :)

@@tjmatney8950 Yeah I think we just see it differently. Other corps use it more for transitions and I don't love it, but can live with it because it doesn't compete. I feel Bluecoats are competing with their own narration. Buuuut, this is my opinion and I'm glad you like it. If you're just recently new to DCI, there's so many shows available for you to learn in past years. So much great stuff!
