That 05 line was groundbreaking for me - I had never seen such a tasty, nuanced, and colorful book prior to seeing them in the lot at San Antonio. If memory serves correctly, I think the 05 video was from the semis lot. We had just finished our first-ever semifinals performance at Mandarins, and they let us loose to go watch other groups after we changed. Of course I went to go seek these guys out to see how much they had improved over the summer. Thanks for the fun trip down memory lane!

@ 20:11 - Drum Corps has surely changed since my day in the late 90s, which I consider to be the last dregs of the "mean days." We heard legendary stories of Garfield Cadets '87 getting up hours earlier than the rest of the corps & as such we felt impelled to either stay up later or get up earlier. But alas, getting up even just an hour earlier proved too painful for me (go ahead & think less of me, at least I was honest). There was only one guy who was able to sneak away most nights after the corps was in bed & find a room in a school where he'd practice. Hmmm.

87 Cadets would stop blocks to play frisbee. There is a clip of Tom Aungst talking about it in our videos. Also on his full podcast we did. I don’t think there is anything wrong some breaks and good fun every now and then. Haha

I S*** you not, THIS is the video I saw that made me think that the Bluecoats were trying to come up in the world. I predicted a rise then. And I guess I got it right & you all know the rest of history. Was it the addition of Roger Carter to their mix?
@agedoutpodcast

Roger didn’t show up there until 2012. This was the Mike McIntosh and Tim Maynard lines.

It’s a paradiddle sticking. Diddle on the first and fourth note of the 16ths. Flam on the third note.

@@agedoutpodcast pattern = "r l r+flam l l r l+flam r r" ?

Think of it like this. Each 16th note partial RR - l - lR - rr / LL - r - rL - ll. Although I’m sure if you KZbin Book Report rudiment it may help clear it up.
