Nice end-result! Hopefully after all that work, either you or the owner fixed the leaking 3rd brake light or leaking rear window seal that caused this rust in the first place (very common culprits on this generation) so it doesn't rust right back out again...especially now that there are additional overlapped areas of uncoated steel. Or...maybe you didn't on purpose just so you can replace it all again in about 3 years...job security (just kidding).

Random video pop up on KZbin. Good first, nice spot welder tool. Cool to see that being used. The bad, why grind off paint? You make metal much thinner. Non lap weld on vehicle is also against regulations especially on structural member. Also clip showed putting bondo on bare metal,again against regulations. All manufacturer warranty now void. Good job.
@mikesweet58483 жыл бұрын
Where did you learn you can't put body filler on bare metal? You were told wrong because it says right on the can that's how you get the best adhesion. Body filler has zinc in it too for corrosion protection. So you're obviously also wrong about what's allowable with the sectioning procedure. The manufacturer determines the sectioning procedure, and how to weld it.
@jacilynns63303 жыл бұрын
@@mikesweet5848 Where did I learn? Duh in the certification course your required to take and graduate from before your allowed to repair manufacture warranty. Im also retired from over 30+ years of bodywork. Though I still do some fabrication from time to time.
