This Nissan 370Z got hit in the left rear corner and folded up the quarter panel. Luckily Nissan sells the quarter panel extension (the lower part behind the bumper cover) so I was able to replace that section and repair the quarter panel. Check out how it's done!

As a recently retired career toolmaker, let me say that I admire the skill and attention to detail that you bring to your work. The frame jig with the CMM is really cool, done right I could see a salvage car could be just as straight as an unmolested one, especially if bent structural parts were replaced. I am interested as to how a light belt sanding could separate spot welds? I would think that you would have to grind through to the under layer of metal?

I currently work at a body shop, but I need to find a new shop like this one, the bosses at the shop don’t care about the detail and craft.

Was gonna say that I was proud of him and the shop for ensuring they had a high quality product. Many places now charge the same and do mediocre work. It’s hard to know what product you get sometimes.

You shouldn't have etch primer in contact with seam sealer. Otherwise, good work.

Why?

@@JohnDoe-qz1ql not chemically compatible. Should be using epoxy or a DTM primer-surfacer. Epoxy is best, but it's slower so nobody wants to use it
