I agree with you 100% the made in America aspect means a lot to me as well just love seeing it. For this application, probably would go with the holosun for a turkey setup. Not just the price, but because when you’re out in the woods you have to have insurances and the solar panel and side compartment battery tray is nice if the reticle goes out and it’s not going to get abused on a shotgun setup usually. Plus if you do need to swap things you’re not disassembling your setup and having to mess with tiny screws in the field. I think the trijicon is geared more towards offset AR mounting options or pistol, where it’s going to get banged around running drills and more strenuous activities. Looking forward to your thoughts as this series continues 🇺🇸

Love the Holosun 507c x2 set up on my Stoeger M3000 12 ga. I used the Evolution Gun Works (EGW SKU:40600) rail and it was a very simple and effective installation.

Holosun for sure. Wouldn’t want to take my sight off to replace the battery. Side replacement battery’s are the best. Swamp fox kingslayer is the same. You guys should review them some day. That green reticle is legit.

I'm a halosun guy myself, but I took a look at the swampfox. I'm always putting something together. Swampfox seems to be lacking all around in my opinion. They don't have solar recharge, you can get the dot with the circle but that's the only option no flipping between reticles. The dot is 3moa instead of 2. The smaller the better in my opinion. I also looked at the higher level red dot and you can pick Manual brightness or auto brightness. That's odd. Halosun you can put it on auto or manual. Swampfox isnt from what I gathered. Am I wrong?

@@littlejohnny210 the solar would be a great option for sure. The 3moa dot is a non issue because the green has much less starburst than the red dots. It looks smaller even if it’s bigger due to the crispness of the dot. I actually like the circle dot too. Gives me some reference of my pattern. Side load battery as well. The swamp fox warranty is also pretty strong. I wouldn’t discount it too quickly.

I've owned 2 Trijicon RMRs, both were mounted to pistols. Optics worked great and took a beating being on a pistol slide. Only reason I sold mine were because of the battery compartment being on the bottom.

I’ve got an rmr on my carry pistol and it’s been a beast. Beat the crap out of it in pistol classes for years and it’s never failed or shifted poi. I’ve got a Vortex venom on my current turkey gun but setting up a new one and I’m curious how the Holosun does as the solar interests me.

Hey! Nice review. I just placed the holosun on a socom16, and the screws where the 507c mount into the low picatinny mount keep getting loose despite locktight. Any advice?

Was wondering if you have tried the 510c green dot?… it comes with a picatinny rail, with a quick release. Looks like a good shotgun option.

Question: advantages/ disadvantages on how far out to mount these sights? I see em up close and I see em out halfway to the choke?…. I did notice just eye-ballin that the circle dot does take up more of the window as opposed to up close to the eye.. Or, does the whole thing hinge on if your gun is tapped or not? Thanks!

All personal preference really I’ve seen people say the closer to the target the more accurate but with a reflex it’s all in how dead nuts you have it zeroed I’ve used em close & I’ve used em out personally I like having it on a meadow creek mount on the vent rib as I feel I am on target faster and just really like having it out there

I’d go holosun just because of battery tray I’ve been using a venom for years and bought it for that very reason don’t have to take it off to change the battery let’s face it batteries will die eventually and at the worst time I don’t want to be in the woods and can’t swap a battery

You can just change the reticle with the 507c x2 if you don’t like the circle dot We have yet to see an issue with the green circle dot fits perfectly

I just look it up. That 32 moa is going to be like a 3.2 inch circle at ten yards, 6.4 at 20 yards, 9.6 at 30 yards. So at 40 it's gonna be 12.8 inch cirlce. With this in mind you could tell around what yardage he's at.

@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA not good. Ordered a egw Mount for the Stevens 301 and didn’t get any of the torx mounting screws with it. Otherwise it’s a sold low profile mount for the 301s. But a little aggravating not to get what you pay for.

I hope nobody buys either to put on a glock .. there are cheap airsoft red dots that would be better suited for glocks since glock is an entry level pistol that needs upgrades to be a usuable weapon .
