it could be helpful to think of the first 3 notes of the major pent as the first 3 notes of the major scale, making the 3 double bend easier to hear.

I just saw North Mississippi Allstars in concert about a month ago in Alabama. The drummer stepped out front for a solo. Get this....it was on an ELECTRIC WASHBOARD! It was really cool.
