David Raya is not all that great...but arsenal's defense does their job. Thhey led the League in clean sheets last season and Raya won the "Golden Glove" but I can assure you,. he is NOT the best GK in the league. Reece James left our goalkeeper to dry today. Mendy and Sanchez are very good at that. Every game, Sanchez is good for one hairy moment and he DOES need to be better with his short passing out of the box. However, this whole recent fad of managers insisting on playing the ball out the back, from the GK, to me is ridiculous and unnecessary. Most goalkeepers doo poorly playing the ball out WHEN THEY ARE UNDER PRESSURE and the ONLY goalkeeper I can recall not seeing make ANY bad pass out the back is Ederson. I've seen Ter Stegen make bad passes, Neuer, Allisson, Raya, Kepa, Mendy...it's a different kind of pressure for goalkeepers playing the ball at their feet. No goalkeeper is perfect.

The whole liverpool game plan was to contain Palmer and they did. Refs and VAR will always be quick to brush off chelsea advantages. Sanchez is also another weakest link though he makes some saves, during the second goal, he was supposed to read that shot and anticipate it before the ball reaches the liverpool player. I saw Keleher anticipating shots from our players maybe the coach need to give Filip a chance in the premier league and let Sanchez try his luck on thursday.

fell like my one gripe with maresca here was keeping palmer on, like obviously i get why, but in hindsight in games like this where palmer is getting marked 24/7, in the last 15mins throw a curve ball in their tactics and take palmer out, replace him with nkunku or felix and see perhaps if we're able to expose some gaps due to the sudden change in palmer not being there anymore. i blame the media tho, hyped him so much ppl started treating him like messi and focus strats on making sure he cant do sht :/

We passed a test but came up short. Versus tne best team in PL right now. Not a perfect day but we exposed some Liv frailties that were insufficiently exploited. But that will with maturith, experience and some more scars. This young, fledgling team put up a fight but lacked cutting edge belief when needed most. Liv conceded 2 goals in 7 games. Chelsea cracked that ceiling by scoring 1 and almost had a second from a Neto cross that eluded everyone. No too shabby. Patience, trust the process. The team is getting betfer.

I feel positive about scoring a good goal against a very tight Liverpool defence, but we weren’t good enough … yes Liverpool’s incessant pressing was unbelievabley good but we gave the ball away too many times and way too easily. Enzo looked good when he came on and I thought Caicedo had a good game. But ultimately we lacked that spark and confidence on the ball. Plus Jones was excellent in midfield and got the goal he deserved. We keep growing and the signs are good. Looking forward to many more seasons under Maresca.

There are times when nothing else could be done. This was a game where Maresca put out the best group of players. If Neto started and find play well, we would have said Sancho should have started. We played well but Liverpool were slightly better. I agree with you, Nkunku should have replaced Palmer. TAA did foul Sancho. It should have been a pen.

Liverpool's 2nd goal was soft. Sanchez should have done a lot better. This game should have been a draw, for some reason we just could not take our chances. Liverpool did not outplay us in anyway. They were really concern about out attacking threat. Their decision to stay back nearly backfired. Palmer fell asleep today. If he was on his game we would have gotten an equalizer and possibly could have won as then they would attack a little more which would have given us more space in their attacking third. I am not convinced by this Liverpool team. If we were more solid defensively the outcome would haven been different.

I think with better defending we could’ve easily got a 1-1 today or more

I feel the referee was very bias. We should of had a penalty. As well. Sure they experience beat us. But our boys played well they have room to improve. And that's the goal now.
