Electric Callboy are the most entertaining band in the world right now, not put out a bad song in last 3 years and live shows just a massive rave of metal & EDM riffs that fill audiences with a euphoria 😆🤘

These guys started out as a metalcore band in 2010 - they lost their original singer in 2020 and recruited Nico (the cleaner vocalist) their ep called MMXX had their breakthrough song "Hypa Hypa" which was a KZbin sensation. The 2022 album "Tekkno" is ten tracks and ten great songs - and nine music videos.

Yeah, they use multiple layers of vocals in their songs. That's the depth you are hearing. For Nico, when he's singing, there are a couple of harmonizing layers that he recorded as well. They do it with Kevin's screams, too. When performing live, Kevin and Nico supplement each other. Kevin fills in the harmonies when Nico sings, and Nico backs up Kevin's screaming with his own screams. Some of the other band members do more background vocals from time to time, as well. Nico has a big range, and also sometimes sings with different kinds of voices. Sometimes he's nasally, sometimes he's gritty, sometimes he's so freaking smooth... plus his screaming voices.

What you said about the power of artists crossing genres is so true, and worked for me in the opposite direction - EC made this techno loving raver into a metal fan and moshpit regular 🤘 one of their songs that also has a really unique sound and draws on my favourite style of techno, acid house, is Parasite, if you wanna hear them do something else with their synths (and the clean vocals for that matter - Nico had a different singing style there). His vocal range is also really showcased in Mindreader and Spaceman imo. Plus, any of their lives will show off how both vocalists can support each other even outside their studio „lane.“ Glad you enjoyed and greetings from Berlin!

Oh boy..back again haha I just wanted to point out some things that you can take from this song/video and expect from them fairly regularly with their original tracks even though this is a cover: Humor in the video. The humor is a little more subdued here than in videos for their original songs but definitely humor (hiding who is in the bed in the beginning, the fact that this song originally about lovers is no about Nico and Kevin's bromance, the way they dance together during the second verse..etc...). No matter what video of theirs is the first one you watch you will always get that reaction when the first drop hits. No one knows what to expect and they use that to hit you with the unexpected. And after you check out more of their material...they always play around with their formula to keep it as fresh as possible. You can just about always count on a breakdown but they do use different tactics with breakdowns so they aren't always the same thing every time. You can just about guarantee that the drums will go half time during at least one chorus. Highly effective to me no many how many times they do it. But again, they do it in different places. You can expect some syncopated parts. They usually do it more often than they did in this cover where they really only do it during the last few riffs at the very end of the song but they found a place to add it into a cover without overdoing it but still adding something we have come to expect.

Both Nico and Kevin can do both clean and harsh vocals. But obviously they kind of have a lane and at times they jump into each others' lane. The recorded album versions may have all backing clean backing tracks done by Nico and all harsh vocals done by Kevin (based solely on what I hear and I perform, record, mix and master both styles multi-tracked myself but I could be off on what I hear) or a mixture but even in an album version if Nico laid down all of the clean tracks Kevin can perform backing cleans (and vice versa for harshes) as backing vocals live when each singer can't do multiple parts. When seeing them perform live and/or watching live videos you will see/hear Nico throwing in backing harshes during parts of songs where there are no cleans but you can hear that his backing is different than any of the backing tracks from the studio version. But they master how to layer each vocal for the album and how to make it best translate in a live performance. I believe that Daniel (their guitarist who isn't half of the Schillo brothers who shoot and do post production on their videos) handles their recording, mixing and mastering. He absolutely knows how to blend all of the different musical genres and vocal styles. They have several behind the scenes videos where they have segments of him tweaking a mix or recording a new track and as a mixer I really appreciate what he does especially with the 'complications' of what their band does sonically. In this video, to add to what you said about adding the drums during the second verse... I love how he has the drums gated to start and the gating decreases gradually until they are fully in the track. Simple things that really add to the overall song's character. Sorry this is already so long but: They have their own studio space where many of their videos are shot (Hypa Hypa, Tekkno Train, We Got The Moves, etc...). But they do use other interior and exterior locations (the castle in this video, Arrow of Love, MC Thunder II, etc...) They are signed to a record label but I believe that is primarily just for distribution as they basically do whatever they want for videos and write, record, mix and master their songs on their own. I could be wrong but it does appear that they basically have 100% autonomy and freedom to do whatever they want. And that allows them to do whatever they want to do. Which is probably good because some of their ideas, on paper, may seem really weird to get a label to back but when you see the final work there is no doubting that their crazy ideas are perfect. Absolutely check out more of their stuff. And you said that you don't always pay a ton of attention to videos but with EC you HAVE to. Often it requires multiple viewings to catch everything but you'd have to do that yourself with only one viewing for reaction videos. But do yourself a favor and make sure you catch everything!

First step to react to Electric Callboy are "We got the moves" (most viewed video) and "Hypa, Hypa" first success with the new clean vocalist Nico, which you liked in this song. And then you have the basic knowlegde to react to "Ratatata", a collaboration with Baby Metal.

You're spot on with the production, EC is great at layering Kevin's and Nico's vocals as well as the music. EC coined the term Partycore and that's what they're about since Nico joined the band in 2020. Also they're that good live. Enjoy! :)

Every song by them is awesome. And the key to being innovative is to experiment. I love the style Electric Callboy have created. It’s fairly unique, but always catchy. ❤😊 My favorite artist of all time is Dimash. And he is technically the best singer in the world. I have no doubt about that. But technically perfect singers have never captured me before I heard him. Of course he is also very emotional, because of his skills. He doesn’t have to concentrate on hitting the right pitch, but can concentrate on choosing the pitch and technique that serves the song emotionally. But even that would not make me listen to him again and again. Many singers sing emotionally. I need variation. And for me Dimash is the most dynamic, creative and varied singer there is. In every new song he sings he shows us something we haven’t heard before. A new genre, new skills, a new style or vocal range. ❤ But he has nothing like an Electric Callboy song. (Yet) They are truly unique as well. Real musicians! ❤

Most of them are produced by the Schillobros (Oliver and Pascal Schillo. Pascal is one of the guitar players of Electric Callboy) Probably you'll have some fun with them. Good job noticing the fx in the intro! Run the vocals through a splitter, run one track through a vocoder (maps vocals to an instrument wave-shape), then merge them back together... and that's what you get!

EC make the ravers headbang and the metalheads doing the discofox 😁🤘 While they have a serious amount of humorous partycore songs, they sometimes do serious ones too and every once in a while, they're doing something (almost) completely different, like "Fckboi" feat Conquer Divide. As you enjoyed this this, you might also like: Rage of Light: Lollipop (Aqua cover) Amaranthe: Archangel Ad Infinitum: Upside Down Nanowar of Steel: Disco Metal And I saw someone mentioning Feuerschwanz in the comments.
