This song was a grower for me, I absolutely love it now. Perhaps its because ive experienced the whole discography and it feels important in the overarching story. I just found you today and have binged the whole ST playlist 😅 Sundowning is currently my favorite album (they rotate pretty equally lol) and once you've finished it Id be curious on your thoughts about the album title in relation to the story being told. Going back through it with the title in mind changed a few tracks for me, and I loved it even more! Congrats on getting your thesis done, btw!🎉

Dark signs was an interesting choice to start off with. It's off of their first album, so a little bit of it does have a bit of that rough feel. But by the second album you can really tell that they've nailed their sound down and they bring in a lot more of that epic theatric kind of sound I think that you're looking for. The third album, Take me back to Eden is just an experience. I have a hard time recommending a song because personally they're all my faves. But they are definitely some earworms. You're going to be whistling the song in the shower at some point and be like why can't I get it out of my head? I'm not exactly sure where your tastes lie because I haven't gone through all your other videos yet so I'm not exactly sure what songs to recommend To you. Alkaline is a good one with a nice video and the summoning is what really gave Them their big boost. Another one that people start off with is ascensionism but that's like starting dinner off with dessert. Save it for last because you're going to want it. I guess if I could recommend a song to you it'd be off the same album. The night does not belong to God off Sundowning. Most of their music eventually loops back to that one at one point or another.

Their KZbin channel has some full concerts of theirs and really fun to watch. I don’t get to concerts much anymore. I’m older and can’t handle going to festivals and every time they come here it’s at a festival. I would die out in the heat here in Florida. So I settle for watching concerts on their channel on KZbin. As for slower songs I think that’s pretty much covered. I especially love Neon. Prism is really good and slower ballad type song. I also love Hate/Love. On their YT channel they also have a couple songs that they do with just Nico and Kevin singing with acoustic guitar. And Pump It Velvet Remix which slows that song down. Mind reader and Parasite are slowed down even though they do have harsh vocals in them.

No you are totally right. That's what their music is all about. They got those frequencys and they can resonate with yours, if they are the same. That's the reason, why we are drawn to certain songs more than to others. They just don't resonate with us. The band wants to make us experience all those primal emotions and bring everything to the surface. Sounds kinda weird, but I believe that. The music Video is also something else. The birth of Vessel, who trades his heart for fame and glory and the love of Sleep. It's so intimate, mysterious and seems like we are to witness a secret Ritual. The music is so special like nothing else. WORSHIP.

There's a live version they did on Audacy and you see a second guitarist/backing vocalist there. Draiman also "dirties" up the vocals a little more on it. John Moyer (bassist), Dan Donegan (guitarist) also do backing vocals on this some. And The Official Live of "Hold on to Memories" is even more heart-tugging and includes vignettes of some of their friends who left us too early like Dimebag Darrell, Chester Bennington, Chris Cornell, The Rev and others.

There are frequencys in the music that can respond to our own frequencys. That's why we like certain songs the most. Another thing is that the music especially here and in Nazareth tells a story, too, in Addition to the lyrics. The music speaks and at the breakdown part you can literally see and feel, how Vessel rips his heart out to offer it to Sleep, after the deity lured him in with sweet promises and sensual seduction.

For me this song feels lyrically like someone happy in love and enjoying this feeling, being whole again, adoring the other. Also soundwise it sounds happy and strong, a bit dark too, but not sad or desparate like other songs. The same goes for Jericho. I feel like EP Two is the start of a romantic love, maybe with the beginning with the song Thread the Needle and then Nazareth and the two others and then comes the Drama with fields of elation and when the bow breaks. Yes, I am sometimes confused with the correct order of the Songs, depending on my own interpretation.
