I have this kit, but in my version the deck is blank, there are no planks or other markings on it :(

What is it with these 'skilled' people that are selected to explain something? They all show the obvious, as here, where the planks are fixed and shown held by clothes pegs in the middle. The planking of the ship is an important stage, fraught with difficulties that could render the project useless: What happens at the ends? How are the planks bevelled to follow the contours of the ship? How are the ends held together at the ends while the glue dries?. The gentleman's hands in this video seem always to cover up the ends, even when he is sanding down the planking. For goodness sake! How are we supposed to shape the planks to the contours of the ship? Can anyone please explain that to me? And just where is the starting position for the first plank? Is it right at the top? ....but the line of the planking just above the deck is confusing, the rear half of the ship being raised above the front half. Can someone please re-do this useless video? There must be someone who understands the necessity of explaining the relevant stages in careful steps? Explaining something does not require someone who has built these things all his life, rather someone who understands the difficulty a person who has not built this boat before will experience and someone who is able to instruct the novice through the hidden difficulties. The 'experts' are nothing if not useless!
