One of the last fife players of the Southern Blues tradition to reach notoriety, Otha Turner was an integral part of his Mississippi community, not just as a musician but as a thrower of celebrations. This short video from the Southern Foodways Alliance remembers Turner for the annual Labor Day picnic he thew on his property, which went on for more than 24 hours each year.

+Lap Gong Leong You just don't see many positive stories about the south. This showcases how people of all walks of life can be positive and spread good into the world.

+Lap Gong Leong being Vietnamese in the south is no different than being Indian, Chinese, etc in the south. I agree that black people do have it worse and that's bc their injustice began way before Asians were brought over.
