In this lesson I take you through a number of different basslines you can play with your left hand for blues, boogie woogie and rock 'n' roll. We go over simple as well as some more complex riffs and some classics, like Lucille. Some are simple, some are intermediate and a couple are a little more advanced or complex.
You just need to keep practicing them until they are in your muscle memory.
Good luck

This is such a great video introducing bass lines on piano. I am working my through a mixture of jazz piano curricula, and have been wanting to get a head start on bass lines so I can get my left hand working a little more. This video gave the perfect introduction and variety for me to practice. Thank you for sharing this and helping further develop budding musicians!!!

I just came across your videos and I must say they are Great! Each one I've seen is packed full of valuable information presented in a very clear, professional style. The most important aspect of a good instructional video, even more important than the ability to play well, is the ability to present information in a well-organized, logical manner. You have that in spades. Thanks.

+john ohara Thanks, John. Yeah, I completely agree. Much of the content itself is actually quite straight forward, but assembling it all in a step-by-step, logical manner takes quite a bit of time. I'm really glad you found these useful.

Have to say that after around 6:48, these patterns are straight forward enough to understand, but they would be tricky to play! Great video, learning quite a bit, thank you!

I'm just trying to use the dash lines to line up the notes. It doesn't allow you to use spaces in the description for some reason. Sorry if it's a little confusing. But I show each of the basslines in the video, which shows the timing as well.

it feels like i cant time the right hand with the base like that. If i dont put a swing on it and just play quarter notes then its no problem but it feels impossible to play the right hand if i play one of the baselines you presented. How do i fix this.
