One of my all time favorite Concerts was at Balboa Stadium in San Diego in 1976. Loggins and Messina, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Fleetwood Mac, and Rod Stewart as the main Performer! He had the Tower of Power Horn section, and an eleven piece String Section. I had quit my Job to attend, I had someone to cover for me at Work, but my supervisor wouldn't let me have a substitute- so I called in eight hours before my shift and quit. I'm so glad I did, it was a most Awsome event.

"The Hook" is such a strange and brilliant song. It's genuine, emotional, sincere and speaks against the contrived nature of pop music by presenting a heartfelt parody of pop music. Performed by a master of harmonica. In the days of Nirvana ,how did this exist ?

Definitely the best of the "canon in d" songs. A song long before it's time, for sure!
@wonderrob32255 ай бұрын
@@alexallen6286 You are exactly correct. It is the lovely chord progression in the key of "D" made most famous by Johann Pachelbel.😊

The original album cut ran 4:49, with the harmonica solo running about 20 seconds longer than in the 4:20 single edit/music video version.

Blues traveler ranks just barely below TOOL as the best two out of the dozens of live acts I've ever seen. Popper shredding live on those harps was an experimence I'll never forget. (Even though i should have no business remembering it 😜🙃)

Fantastic to revisit this, thanks so much for adding this David. Bobby's musical prowess was/will always be underrated in how it contributed to the fierce early sound of the band IMO. That said Im beyond happy to see the v2 version of the band continue on the road as long as possible. In my several interactions with them over the years I found them to be high quality human beings across the board. Humble and approachable in their 20s and 50's and all points between.

Thank you so much for posting this and the "but anyway" video! I must be one of Bobs number one fans but it is so difficult to find interviews with him! Best bass player and most attractive man but I never got to see him play, I was still young when he died. Do you have anymore footage of him?
@davidmallick34714 ай бұрын
I do not, but www.youtube.com/@BluesTravelerArchive has been posting a ton of new content lately. Definitely worth checking out!

What's the song at 29:04?
@davidmallick34714 ай бұрын
A speed-metal cover of Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode". A very common encore song in the old days, especially when they were up against curfew!

@@thekdksshowNever released as far as I'm aware. They were going more for fun than quality with that cut.
