Coming from a former C-in-C of more than one Command, what is striking is the empathy( the emotions aroused by the wounded jawan) and the humane, modest and candid way in which the Air Mshl narrates the operations in Kargil. A very engrossing and knowledge enhancing episode.

Again another wonderful podcast. Giving rare insights into actual operation, personal risks associated and wartime improvisation of using Spanish 250 kg ammunition. Indeed a professional speaks. The spirit of injured young army soldier is just beyond words.

Thanks. Yes, Air Mshl Nambiar really took us with him, even into that Mi-17 with the soldiers.

@ A/M Nambiar and @Blue Skies Podcast; you promised .....and you really delivered!! A totally riveting account. The last point/s made by A/M Nambiar re: Mirage 2000s are really significant. The IAF (and GOI) might do well to mop-up Mirage 2000s world-wide as other Air Forces move to other aircraft. That might be a good VFM proposition.

One point which stands out in AM Nambiar talks is he is pretty generous in his comments about his team and duly credits them

Absolutely loving this podcast. I have request, it would be awesome if you manage to bring in any officer from the top secret Foxbat squadron based in Gwalior which flew rekon in Islamabad and also speculated to have made a sonic boom in the city. It is a legend in Indian Military Aviation, it would be amazing 🤩

Look for the episode with Sumit Mukherji. However he is very guarded about the sorts of work they did, but you'll get a good sense of the aircraft.

Where are the podcasts on Operation Cactus ( Gen Malik etc ) ?
@pradeepchakraverti2 жыл бұрын
They are still here on this YT channel. That mini-series is exceptional. Thanks to the contributions from all participants and very good anchoring by Mr. Ganapathi who deftly wove the narrative throughout. Gave us all a ring-side view. Please don't miss that series of podcasts!

Just search the channel for Op Cactus. It is also tagged to a special playlist on Joint Operations.

I always wonder how the mirage and rafale capabilities are against the su30 mki. I never get the answer for this. And how close is tejas to the m2k
@BlueSkiesPodcast2 жыл бұрын
Do listen to the Tejas series, the MKI episode and you may get the answer.

As Air Marshal Nambiar mentions in the last part of the podcast, "we don't fly as much these days", what does he mean by that? Does the Indian Airforce carry out less sorties now than compared to before when it had worse reliability and service issues?
@usamakhan78562 жыл бұрын
He meant we don't fly Mirages so often. We are slowly replacing the old Mirages and dividing the function between the Hal Tejas and another single engine which the airforce is looking into, probably something between Jas Gripen, F21(India spec F16) and even f18's if I'm not wrong.
