Thanks for the info! Is it possible to disable the front camera's mirror effect? The rear is completed by disabling the camera mirror from the options menu, however the front camera displays left-side objects on the right and right-side objects on the left, which is quite unpleasant!! Can you please assist?
@Turco949 Жыл бұрын
Front camera doesn't have nor needs mirror effect because the displayed image doesn't get flipped like it happens with the displayed image from the rear camera. This is merely due to the direction of the camera and the direction of your view and motorcycle. If your front camera is showing images flipped then there is something off.

@Turco944 Do you know if it's possible to receive the live feed over bluetooth. The tft screen is almost unusable in daylight. A good 5" waterproof phone as monitor would do wonders as a no blind spot rearview mirror.

Sorry, never had a chance to try it. I ended up giving DV988 to my nephew as a gift. The sunlight wasn't a huge issue for me but I ordered this www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PGA7ZAM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to use as a protective case and also to block the sun light/glare enough toe make the screen more visible. which I believe would work though I never had the chance to install and test it. You might want to make or buy a casing like this for that purpose.

Excellent instructions. i set mine up but it keeps going on for a bit and shuts down and comes on again and does it several times. Very annoying.

If you are 100% certain the wiring is correct and stable, it could be a faulty unit. If a newer firmware didn't help, I'd look into replacing it. I haven't had the chance to do a review video on it but I have been using their A12 model and have been very happy. It has a smaller, non-touch screen because I prefer the buttons. No issues during the last 18+ months I have been using it.

Thanks for the information, i've found that when the ignition is on, the screen remains off, but when the motorcycle is shaken, the sos footage is recorded for a few seconds, and then the screen turns off; I watched your video; is this anything that I can alter from the "auto rec" setting please?
@Turco949 Жыл бұрын
It has been a few years since I used the device so I don't really recall most of the functions but what you described might have something to do with "Parking monitor/Theft protection" or "GPS/Vibration sensor". If you watch the video again, I believe I mentioned it somewhere, you might want to turn off that function.

The rear view it flips the picture so it looks like you are looking through your rear view in your car If u look at your rear camera and the object is on the left side then u need to turn on the rear view to put the object on the right side .

Exactly, hence the name "Rear Mirroring". It is an extra pair of eye that tells you if it is not safe to change lanes. Also, side mirrors typically miss what is directly behind you, so, if you are stopped and a vehicle is coming in fast, you have a way of seeing and recording it. It can also capture what the driver was doing at the time (distracted, not looking in front, etc.) To me, it is very useful.

Thanks, I'm interested in buying this model. I'm a little worried about durability or longevity.

I didn't use it for a long time before getting another. I wanted something with buttons as opposed to touchscreen which didn't work with my gloves (otherwise touchscreen worked really well). I washed the bike couple of times with it attached and no problem. It has a pretty rugged ABS/rubber case. With any DVR system I learned to transfer any videos I wanted to keep from the SD card to the computer ASAP. Also once or twice a month, reformat the card in the device. I do this with my helmet action cameras too which seems to minimize any recording "glitches" some used to experience occasionally.

Mine completely dead after 2 years. It's a great dash cam, but the DVR unit failed.

Do you know why my dash cam doesn’t record videos “normal”, her just recorded SOS videos with 20/25 seconds. I did all configuration like you but still doesn’t working well 😩😩😩

I don't have this DVR any more but I will try to help. So, the "Protect Level" setting is turned off yet it is still recording videos to the SOS folder? First of, if its firmware is older than 20200701 (July 1st 2020) then try updating your firmware. If that is what yours already had, then try doing the factory reset (sometimes I had better luck doing the reset, cycling the power then doing another reset to clear most any glitch). Hope this helps!

I'm interested too know if the rear camera will act as mirror. Reverse image. Good video though.

I am not sure why it wasn't doing it before but after I did a reset on the device, the "Rear Mirror" function seem to start working. What it does is, it simply flips the image horizontally on the display. Recorded videos are not affected though. This is a nice feature to have if you prefer the rear cam image to be flipped on the screen so you can determine the orientation of things behind you easier. I hope this helped clarify the function.

Can you help me with the dv988 camera, when I turn the bike on the camera is still off, I need to turn the camera on the on button to turn on ... In addition to the video image, the recording is inverted 🙃 ... can I send you a video?
@Turco9493 жыл бұрын
I don't have the device anymore but it sounded like you didn't connect the wiring harness correctly. Check the ACC (ignition on) yellow wire and Battery + (always on) red wires to make sure they were properly connected. When you turn it on using the power on button, does it stay on or does it shut off after a while? If it does shut off by itself then you do NOT have a proper "always on" connection. Image inverted meaning upside down? Make sure the cameras are properly aligned (white dot should be Top Center - pointing up). Also, check your firmware version and compare it to the latest available one on their web site.

Any kinda of weirdness with any brand, I found it best to start with a system/device reset (to factory defaults). Do that twice with a power cycle after each reset, back-to-back. If no help, then a firmware update/re-install...good luck!

Yeah, I could see that happening. I never really used it. I am a bit iffy on any function that makes a device use battery while the vehicle is off -unless- it is on a trickle charger.

@Turco9493 жыл бұрын
Hi, microphone is embedded inside the remote control unit (yellow connectors). Please take a look at this video where you can see the remote control unit I glued onto the windscreen in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2q5on-ZqsqEaNk (go to 2:10 in the video please). It also has a homemade blue/green foam on the microphone port for wind noise reduction.

Wi-Fi functionality is nothing more than a means for the operator to connect to the camera using a smartphone app (RoadCam). On your phone, you will see the Wi-Fi connection listed somerthing like "CarDV....". You connect to it using the default passcode which I believe is 12345678. Once connected, you can use the RoadCam app to control the cam's main functions and a few other settings but it is not as comprehensive as using the device itself.
