5:34 Fun Fact: In Sonic 1 prototype the zone scrap brain was actually called clock work zone but it was missing the W. So the act was called Clock Ork Zone, and you couldn't play act 3 a.k.a Final Zone.

The nicest touch was Act 3 of Sparkling Zones background and floor showing a transition into an industrial feel like Clock Work Zone. It was a way of connecting the Zones without doing between act transitions. It made it feel like you were doing one continuous story.

I love the continuation of the hack! I like all of the unused items, enemies, and bosses! "This looks hard" *Dies* That Final Zone felt truly awesome. Sonic at the end looked so mad you didn't get the emeralds. Pretty cool hack, oh and we all know the most terrifying villain is OmoChao . . .

Actually air bubbles like that _do_ exist in real life. Since air is less dense than water it tends to get trapped in pockets like that. Although the air really wants to float to the surface so it might break the pocket depending on how it's constructed. A good example is when a ship capsizes and sinks. Some divers will actually use natural air pockets while diving if they know about them or come across them.

And about underwater breathing areas irl: From my understanding, they DO exist, but not always. Due to the make-up of the land and caves(?) nearby large bodies of water and the shape of the deep water within that space, it is possible there may be a spot where there's a space without water that you can use for a breath. That's what's called an "air pocket", though, because air pockets relies on the amount and shape of water and the shape of ground and walls and stuff nearby, to exist or not, you should not count on an air pocket to save your life when underwater

About the animal inside Motobug, it's possible the animal has some sentience inside the Motobug and is just forced to do Eggman's bidding. An example of this, is E-102 Gamma from Sonic Adventure 1. After Amy's kindness got through to Gamma, the Flicky inside him seemed to have some control, as he made an effort to "save" his brothers, by destroying them and freeing the robots inside. And in the Sonic X anime, I vaguely remember Gamma dies saving Amy, though I could be misremembering stuff I have not seen in a very long time, which does happen with me. In Sonic Adventure 1, he "dies" from his brother taking a cheap backshot as Gamma thought he entirely defeated him, leaving both to have their animals free. As much as I hate the voiceacting from Gamma in Sonic X's 4Kids dub, he has a more satisfying end than in the game. Amy actually sees him die. In Adventure 1, his death is not witnessed by Amy, so Amy does not know he died. Leaving Amy in Sonic Battle to assume the Gamma she sees in that game, is the same Gamma, which it's just another Gamma replica. Like the copies of Gamma in Adventure 2. Eggman must've seen how successful Gamma was compared to his brothers of the E-100 series of robots, that he decided to create replicas of him. Also, it's obvious that Eggman invented robots with sentience in the Sonic universe, as in Last Story of Sonic Heroes, we see Eggpawns fleeing in fear of Metal Sonic. And in the same game, E-123 Omega, at the beginning of Team Dark's story, desires to murder Eggman out of revenge of being abandoned by him. So, I feel it's entirely possible that even some of the Badniks in the Genesis/Megadrive Sonic games might have some sentience, since in Sonic Heroes, the effectively most minor enemy in that game, Eggpawns, can feel fear

I'm so glad you finished this! What I noticed was that there were no air bubbles in underwater stages in this prototype. So I guess they added them later to get rid of these waterless areas. And I think I prefer the air bubbles over these little areas.

As poorly as he was implemented as a villain, I feel Mephiles from Sonic 06 was the strongest villain. He's the only villain to canonically kill Sonic. And killed him by impaling him. I'm not joking, that actually happened in Sonic 06. But, due to the Power of Chaos, and oddly, also, a human kissing his corpse, his death was undone. Yeah, allot of Sonic 06 was really weird. While Eggman seeks world domination, Mephiles seeked ruining the timeline, as in the future Silver the Hedgehog comes from, the future is screwed. Clearly Mephiles is more evil than Eggman.

I will say, there are real waterless pockets but is hard to find and not sure if they are worth it. If u put a cup underwater upside down instead of right side up how u drink water and all, there comes an air pocket there. Move it to the side and it fills with some water.
