Sonic 1 Kawarino is a great alternate version of Sonic 1. If it was in any of the Sonic hacking contests, it would've definitely won a lot of things. Seeing it evolve through its development was very cool as well. Hope you enjoyed it!

I love seeing prototype or beta stuff of video games. There's often a lot of cool stuff in them. I really liked the music in Marble Zone Act 3. And the idea that each act of a zone has a slightly different theme is also really cool! So, I'd be greatly pleased if you'd make a 2nd episode!😄

Hold up, The UFOs are still in the game, well on the mobile version, to get them, you need to select No-Save mode, choose any character, Click all of the Sega letters and make sure you hear a ring chime, then when it gets to the “Sonic Team Presents” hold 2 fingers on any half on the screen for that slide and the intro screen and then you will be in some menu, then go to sound test and play these numbers, (Go to the number and play it 1 time), Play these notes, 1,9,9,1,0,6,2,3, then you should hear a second ring chime, then choose your zone and act of that zone and click your SCORE TIME RING counter, then click continue after it pauses it then when your back in, you appear as a ring, you can phase through the walls but to change items you click the + or -, to place an item click the jump button, back to the UFOs in marble zone 1,2 or 3 Click + or - until you get to the UFO, click jump and then it will be in the background! Please like this is really helpful and it took me a LOOOONG time to create this

This was weird and wonderful, i loved it. I loved how crazy it got, esp with Robotnic's ball just sat there. I loved all the little changes, like the music speeding up and the strange characters they are unique. Also liked the different effects when you end the level. This was a real cook hack, these Sonic hacks just get better and better. Thank you for the awesome upload.

Also, in one of the builds of Sonic 1 before release, you would not get the Chaos Emeralds in the Special Zone, as you saw. Instead, you would get extra lives from it. The fact the Chaos Emeralds are just littered around the stages of this version of the game, likely was the inspiration for how you would get Chaos Emeralds in most of the Gamegear Sonic games, as Chaos Emeralds you would find hidden in the stages, instead of traveling to the Special Zone to try to get them

Darby, did you notice in Green Hill Zone Act 1 of this romhack, that there was two Motobugs at the start? In one of the builds of Sonic 1 before it was released, there was a Motobug at the very start of the game, near the starting point. But, that Motobug was removed in the final release of the game, to buy new players more time to learn how to play the game for the first time. That is also why Motobugs are so slow, it's to give players time to learn how to control Sonic in this game.

The context behind why GHZ 3 looks different is because it’s based on an early demo from 1990, which was the first appearance of Sonic 1. Kawarino GHZ 3 takes lots of influence from it.

There was a lot of new things to see. Different backgrounds, music, enemies, and animations. It almost looks more like an arcade game. Perhaps they had to cut a lot of stuff due to cartridge limitations. Would love to see another episode, not that it really matters considering I pretty much watch every video you post.
