Just a really satisfying win. Blowing Illinois off the ball and watching the RBs dominate was awesome. WR blocking is so much better this year too. Just dominant.

It was great to see the o-line absolutely dominate a game but like everyone else I have concerns. Allar looked like 2023 Drew tonight, it was fine against an Illinois team but that won't cut it against a better team. The tackling and penalties are raising my blood pressure every Saturday, needs to get cleaned up for better teams and my health 😂. Singleton and Allen were outstanding again. Very curious to hear your breakdown as to why Penn State didn't push the ball down the feild after you get to review the film. Great stuff as always T Frank!

If USC is smart they will take the note from BG and get the ball out quick. I think our defense's biggest weakness is the DB's not to say they are bad but they can be exploited by good passing teams. I don't know who is going to cover Smith from OSU.

Our biggest problem in this game was ourselves. And the final couple minutes of defense was what made our defense so elite last year. Manny let our athletes play freely and get at the QB. That’s what we did in the final minutes and it worked.
@RSeakerАй бұрын
Badgers DL ran out of steam in the second half against USC... PSU's D meanwhile seems to have the horses to last through the entire game. A plus. The things needing immediate attention include... an inconsistent, panicky Allar, weird situational play calling in the red zone, and FG kicking.
@johnhatton730Ай бұрын
you averaged 1 yard a carry, thats why you lost…
@jonbutton3259Ай бұрын
I disagree with the characterization that coach k was taking the ball out of Drew's hands. Why was a huge passing game needed? It wasn't. RB's and O line were definitely controlling the game, why go away from that? This was a film game: play bully ball because we can now, and make sure that opposing teams have no idea what kind of game they're getting from us. Love this approach.
@bluewhiteillustratedvideoАй бұрын
After watching the game back, I agree with your assessment. Sometimes what you see and think you see in the moment is different than reality. There's always things I get wrong on the postgame show trying to give an account of the game we all just watched. Gotta get better each week. --T-Frank

@BoschhammerActualАй бұрын
DAMN this was a fun game to be at. Desperately need to clean up the penalties and find an actual football kicker. Both solvable problems. Run game looked fantastic and the defense was suffocating. I don’t mind “only” winning by 14 when we hold the opponent to a single touchdown on their first drive. Thats still a 3 to 1 score ratio which says more to me than “only won by 14” does
@dennisgriffin6742Ай бұрын
PSU dominated both lines against my Illini. Your crowd won PSU the game by causing critical mistakes…bad snap 1st and goal at the 2 on a probable TD drive, then another procedure penalty 2 snaps later, and then again on 4th and 1 when we were driving late in the game. I’m optimistic about where we are compared to what we’ve been accustomed to. PS: A LOT of people made money against that ridiculous point spread. :) Good luck the rest of the year.
@kevinchandler179Ай бұрын
I agree with you buddy!!! I don't give a shit about the spread, literally!!! Every game is different and doesn't play out the way we want to, and dominate on offense and defense!! I was actually very impressed with the defense after the first drive, and offense really just ran the ball and realized we could win that way!!! WE ARE 🏈 Unrivaled

The talent disparity between guard, guard, center on both sides of the line and the LB play was obvious and exploited by PSU.

@billnyedoesminecraftjoseph8379Ай бұрын
The spread wasnt that insane, PSU wasnt explosive today and would have won by 21 if they just had a decent FG kicker
@dennisgriffin6742Ай бұрын
Ya BS…you forgot about that bad snap already? That was a probable TD at the 2 yard line on 1st down. That would have made it 14-7 and who knows what that may have done in regards to momentum. But don’t act like that sequence wasn’t a turning point.
@ryangentzler5713Ай бұрын
If I have to complain about something its gonna be penalties. The offsides at this level is just unacceptable. At least they didnt line up in the neutral zone over and over, they just failed at predicting the snap count and jumped, so at least there's some improvement. A player has to know better than to shove someone in the back on an interception return. 7 points off the board there. Special teams is gonna hurt us. Leaving 6 points out there because we can't kick 2 field goals is the kind of thing that could make a difference against USC and Ohio state. So we left between 6 and 14 points off the board because of special teams. Offense helped out by scoring after the interception was called back but we cant leave those points out there against the top level teams we have yet to play. I think they can clean up the penalty stuff.....field goals maybe not
@larrybarberio2777Ай бұрын
As great as Coach K has been so far, I feel like he got pass happy at times when it was clear ILL could not stop the run. Then they insisted on running when it was clear the defense was expecting run and they should’ve thrown it. Am I wrong?
@billnyedoesminecraftjoseph8379Ай бұрын
I disagree that they didnt play drew because of his not stellar performance, me and my buddies were saying “just run the balllll” so much during the game because it felt like every time they ran they would get 8 yards, it just worker. I wouldnt have passed either, however, in the red zone it made me very mad they kept running instead of passing to the endzone
@timx9661Ай бұрын
My personal pet peeve. When a defensive team intercepts the ball and there is no one in front of the ball carrier to tackle the defender running with the ball, peel back and block the people coming from behind who can actually tackle him. That was 7 points left on the field. You do no good running into the end zone blocking nobody.
@panosalexakos4877Ай бұрын
Agreed. If they can't stop the run there zero reason to throw it. 2nd half Michigan last year. 1st round QB zero throws
@teekay_1Ай бұрын
In hindsight, the Illinois defense was overrated. They played a defense with a plan to prevent the big play and it meant that the run game was there all game. As to their O-line, it really just points out that Nebraska wasn't nearly as good as people thought they were. That said, it was a workman-like game. Other thoughts: Beau Pribula simply isn't a good QB PSU needs a different kicker No, Allar was not off, the game plan was off in the first half. They defense took too long to jell Poor play calling in a lot of 3rd and long and especially in 4th down tries.
@dennisgriffin6742Ай бұрын
It should have been 14-14 (bad snap) But it was 7-14 until you scored a garbage TD to make it 7-21 So either our defense is better than average or your offense is overrated. Which is it?
