After watching this video, I got pumped into trying scuba diving too! I wonder how long will it take for me to finally be fit for it.. I can't swim yet, and I think swimming and diving are two things that you need to learn singlehandedly, yeah?

I was snorkeling in Maui, when the most beautiful, HUGE, green sea turtle came within a foot of me and swam with me for about 20 minutes. It absolutely changed my life. I wanted so badly to reach out and touch it, but I know that's taboo. But, just the fact that he/she was actually swimming WITH me was mind blowing. I've never felt so blessed in all of my life.

That’s too cool! You can tell the males from the females easily because the males have spurs on their front flippers, btw. They’re used to hold on to females during mating.

Feeding wild animals is a bad thing. Some people want to do good and just have fun but some see it as food or money specially in Indonesia and Malaysia. Wild animals should not be petted.

@@rosepearl2135 Being a professional dive guide and sea turtle ecologist myself , currently heavily involved with a few turtle conservation programs across South East Asia, this video irritated me a lot. A golden rule of scuba diving is "dont touch marine life" either they are dangerous to touch or you could transfer bacteria to them. Their is the risk of changing their behavior or stressing them out through constant interaction. The worst, the absolute worst thing to come from this, is that they have set an example, and now numerous people who have watched this video like yourself, now are interested interact and may think its okay to go and touch and play with a turtle weather on land nesting or in the sea. I have had to swim in between a snorkeler or diver and a turtle, as that person was swimming arms extended out ready to touch and grab hold of the turtle, as they're coming up for air on many occasions. It dangerous for them. Everyday in places with turtles like Koh Tao, Perhentien Islands, Nusa Penida, Mabul, phillipines where there are many, many snorkellers and divers, just imagine how much people would be out touching and disturbing marine life if they were behaving like the guys in the video. Dont touch any marine life Observe and take only photos

The answer is no, we don't want any individual sea turtle to associate us with getting food, so as to not disrupt it's natural behavior whenever it sees a human or worse yet a boat. In the wild they can feed without any assistance from us, so there's no need to feed them even though the urge is there sometimes. Just let them be and observe from a distance of 1.5m or more.

I was hoping that you’d give them food from the boat. One great meal to help tide them over.
