The bluff worked but it shouldn't have against a KK holding. Villain should never have AA (since that should reraise preflop). TT is also likey to reraise preflop. 5x would raise on the turn most of the time. Overall villains play does not make sense, plus there are extremely few card combinations that beat you. The correct play is to sigh and moan and toss the chips in. Of course there's the option of not raising so that you don't have to call a reraise. For those saying they've been in that spot and their aces is "always up against quads", I don't believe it. People at all blind levels both bluff in that spot AND overplay weaker pairs. It's more memorable when you lose but calling a reraise in that particular spot is a long term winner unless you're up against a player who would NEVER bluff there nor overvalue their pocket pair. Note that as the number of opponents seeing the flop goes up, the chances of running into quads increases (indeed one of players held J5 in that deal). Also if my opponent had check raised me on the turn as he's supposed to I would be more inclined to believe his reraise on the river. Lastly people tend to overbluff in higher stakes and under bluff in lower stakes. Brian should definitely have called there.
