9:14 why is the 9 so important on the flop that doyle and bill referenced? I know he's repping poc. 9s but why couldn't Phil have the 9s based on his bets...is it because the 10 in his hand blocks the 10-9 combos so he can represent the 9s? Wish I had half the knowledge and experience Doyle has.

@MUFC203 жыл бұрын
@@rafalles1726 not true, it’s easy to say this when you see how the hand ends but it’s good to call with your best draws in that spot. Lower flush draws are much better semi bluffs. Also, Durrr’s bluff is absolutely standard. He has all the nutted combos in his range: TT, QQ, KK, AJ. The flush draw also misses and Dwan doesn’t have diamonds so he doesn’t block many hands that Ivey should fold to a river bet. What’s fascinating to me is Ivey actually contemplating making that call.

It’s one of those spots where you know that the other guy is probably bluffing, but you just have to fold. It even looked like-that’s exactly what Ivey was thinking. Ivey was a facing a *huge* overbet-shove, and in that spot-the other guy is usually either going to have a big draw, or a set … So, Ivey’s getting a terrible price, against a range that has a TON of equity against KK. Ivey made the right decision. Booth actually made a pretty bad play, and he was just fortunate that it didn’t cost him.

klein bluffing with missed spades on a board where you need to use paired hands to bluff representing a fullhouse is very scary..the funny thing is the fact that theres zero bluffs in galfonds raises on the turn king when hes playing against amateur in 3 way pot so the river bluff by klein is targetting a straight pretty effectively when the board pairs and leading 150k into him even when hes blocking the very hand hes targetting..blockers and looking for being balanced with bluffs in all spots quickly makes no sense anymore when you face situations with zero bluffing range
@fabioyukiowatanabe80143 жыл бұрын
but also if Klein is balanced there, which we should guess he was the only possible hands he could have at that point was either full house with deuces, nines or J/9 or a missed flush draw, cause it's the only hands that can raise the flop and bet/call the turn, so Galfond knows his straight is just a bluff catcher at that point

Because Galfond is much more likely to respect his bluff due to the action on earlier streets. More likely that Klein had pocket 9's given he raised every street, then when the board pairs he can make a credible full house bluff.
