Blundell Park | League Two Stadiums
Today I look at the history of Blundell Park, the home ground of Grimsby Town since 1899. Grimsby Town currently play in League Two with the ground holding just under 10,000 spectators.

I love the old black and white photos you found on this classic ground. I know it is still full of character and that Grimsby Town has a loyal fan base. Definitely one to visit on the groundhopping map!

Thanks for watching the video. There were not many photos of Blundell Park from the old days. They were the only two that I could find.

I was a regular at Blundell Park in the early '70s when Lawrie Mcmenemy was manager before he went on to manage Southampton. We used to go in the old Barret Stand which was an old wooden structure (always thought it to be a fire hazard)). Couple of memories.....of a glorious winter's day in February 1972 walked to the ground along the sea front.....come five to three the sea mist rolled over the main stand....several attempts to get the game vs Exeter City going but eventually had to be abandoned. We left the ground and walked 50 yards inland...still a glorious winter' afternoon.... The final game of that season in May 1972 was the replayed match vs Exeter City which Grimsby Town won 3-0 and Grimsby took the 4th Division title in front of over 22,000 fans. We were in the Pontoon stand that night.

Good fans and very good away following for size of club ,I remember early 90 s they came over to blackpool fc ,Tuesday night match it's not super long way ,but in my experience bringing between 1,600 to 1,800 midweek night match is quality .

You know my clubs record home crowd ,involved wolves in 60s when there was 41,000 at Bloomfield road ,we used to have a fairly big kop then we're north stand is now ,what brought up our decent capacity utmp .

Do you think Germany is cooked at the Euros?

I think Germany look OK going into the tournament. They have a good team and are the host nation. Host nations usually do well at their own tournament.
