My father told me it's either a loose torx screw where you can adjust the angle of the door or a worn out washer on the hinge. It's just slightly off, lifting the door a little closes properly.

My rear drivers door wont open inside or out. I've watched your vid on the front door, hooking the lever, is it the same setup for the rear? great vids thanks.

Yep. Recently it got really bad where when I close the door, the whole body frame shakes. I raised the door lock module as much as I could but it still hits the lock. Also, I know some automotive companies base the door angle off of the door spacing (My father told me Ford used to do this in the 70's). That being said, the spacing is slightly different at the top and bottom.

Do you need to be able to open the door to do this? My passenger rear door doesn't unlock or open from the inside or outside. It might well be the lock, but getting the point where I can see will be an issue.

Always record with the phone horizontally! I would say you've got an issue with the hinge if the door is sagging down. Have you looked at the pins/hinge?

Which car is better...they are all the same, great when running but difficult and becoming more difficult and expensive to fix when they go wrong .. Can u get the panel off when a door fault prevents opening from inside or out? Tx in advance.

I got the panel off and the door open....it was barbaric tbh...I took out the front torx on the door card, removed the handle cover and 2x Phillips screws(inside)..forced the panel up and clear. ..then burst the card at the rear, removed card, drilled rivets to remove the metal panel which holds window winder mechanism. ....hammered lock free and rebuilt with new lock and window mechanism. .cost £50 and 3 or 4 hrs of heartache tbh...job done....make sure u fit exterior lock on correct position in exterior slot..(variable)

Tap the door from the outside with your closed fist while repeatedly pressing the unlock button on the remote. Mine unlocked after about 10 'taps'

VW owners are separated into two groups...The ones that know how to maintain a VW and never had problems and the ones that always have problems beacuse they do not know how to maintain one. I own 2 MK4 Jettas and a MK6 and i have never had problems.

+Immortan Jo3 The two categories are very different actually, but there are two groups. people who love vw because they drive them and pay someone else to work on them, and the people who hate them because they have to work on them themselves. lovely cars. drive great, reliable, but so boring that they make you want to cry, and for anything other than routine servicing, they are fiddly, annoying, over engineered bastards to work on. hahah. vw look at the way the rest of the world does something, then ignores it! :)
