When I heard that such a talent with a voice that can't really be matched left us, I was thinking there is no way they can come back from this. I was reading comments like it could be Amy Lee or Lizzy Hale and I was like nope. I thought they were done. I was wrong. This is not Chester, but who the hell is? The second she got out on stage I felt like the first time I listened to Linkin Park. The performance, the new song, Emily. Everything is still Linkin Park. It's not Chester, but it is Linkin Park. There is that spark, that energy. Mike was constantly smiling. Maybe it's not for everyone. When it comes to me, it hit the spot. that highest note in waiting for the end is difficult and honestly i'm impressed she went for it. feel like maybe they could've rehearsed a bit more but considering how nervous you must be doing your first show in one of the biggest bands of all time, those few hiccups are relatively negligible she's able to hold 99% of the other notes she sings and something zane lowe pointed out was that she's not like most other metal vocalists who always have their cleans and their uncleans pretty separate in their vocal register, and you can especially hear that in how well she sings crawling and numb where her melodic vocals blend seamlessly with her fry
@ArtDadDraws4 ай бұрын
With her screams bottoming out, it's definitely breath management issues on her part. Which is totally understandable-it's hard to go from fry-singing to a fully supported scream if you whiff the breath timing. Emily killed it. About the scientology stuff, I interpret the song to be about it. The lines could be applied to a cult. The album is also called From Zero, so it could play with the themes of people´s past and them starting clean From Zero Let you cut me open just to watch me bleed Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be Don't know why I'm hopin' for what I won't receive Fallin' for the promise of the emptiness machine The emptiness machine Let you cut me open just to watch me bleed : In a cult, the people who are in the higher position basically cut you open. They know about your life, they know where you live, where you work and shit but when you try to get out of it, in some occasions they can ofcourse even kill you or just do bad shit to you. Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be: Basically, they want you to be a believer in your made up shit. And when you do that, you isolate yourself from everyone and follow the rules, so you basically give yourself up to them. Don't know why I'm hopin' for what I won't receive: When you are a scientologist, you hope for the believe of human being an immortal being. But, ofcourse you never receive it in the end. Fallin' for the promise of the emptiness machine: You fall for the promise of the cult. The Emptiness Machine can easily be a metaphor for a cult. Basically a machine making people Empty from the inside just. Or overall its just a machine that is Empty. There is nothing real about the things they promise you, its just an empty machine giving you promises for something that isnt there. Not sure about the other lines, but I am sure some of them could also apply to the idea of it being about a cult. Already pulling me in, Already under my skin,And I know exactly how this ends. I am not sure, but it makes kinda sense I hope you read it, as this intepretation made me like her so far. Ofcourse if she is still in the cult why not make her career burn down immediately, but the lyrics feel like she got out of it, and thats what I believe in right now.

I had mixed feelings at first, but I liked her performance on Emptiness Machine. I think it sounded really good. Since she was involved in the creation process of the new song, it felt like it naturally suited her voice. I also listened to the studio version of Emptiness Machine, and it naturally sounds like a Linkin Park song. I’m not sold. I’m willing to hear the album before passing judgement, but the live show was rough in my opinion.

She needs not More time. She was great with Dead Sara, and this LP concert was also great and beautiful.

As a longtime fan of her other band Dead Sara (been listening to them since 2014), this is kinda weird to me. I'm happy for the band and the fans, but to me LP with her vocals sounds weird, more like a feature, because for me her voice is Dead Sara. I'm also concerned what her joining LP means for the future of DS, because I really like that band.

With what Linking Park as a band stands for, speaks out against and is arguably its origin, they wouldn't let a dodgy person join.

Shes got a serious problem with scream. Its sounds not correct, shes destroying her vocal cords.

She needs to take lessons or something, because whatever she is doing doesn't song healthy

Most of the screams were fine, it's female vocal fry they tend to sound way harsher than they are just because of the size of the vocal folds. There were a few times her technique faltered though but not everything was unhealthy She will improve with time. Even chester blew his voice at times.
