I WAS SAVED IN 1970 IN A CONCERT, VETERAN'S MEMORIAL HALL COLUMBUS, OHIO OF ANDRE CROUCH BAND AT 13 YEARS OLD. MAGNIFICENT, QUIETLY TO MYSELF, I SAID GOD IF YOUR REAL, SHOW ME. HE DID, AMAZINGLY. CRIED 3 HOURS, CAME TO THEN FOR 6 WEEKS ALL I DID WAS HANG MY HEAD, SHAKE IT AND SAY JESUS. I'M STILL SHAKING IT, JESUS, JESUS, JESUS.

Thank you for sharing this video. Our family first heard Bro. Andrae back in the 70's and we had all his albums. My mother who only spoke Spanish, loved him and she would join him in worship with everything she had. When I saw this video I felt so many different emotions. My heart ached for him as one would feel for a close friend or brother to see him in this condition. Then he started playing the keys and my oh my, I was blown away just seeing the anointing that continued to flow from him despite his condition, glory to God! I thought of all the ridiculous excuses that I have used to get in the way of me not playing the keys with my whole heart to the Lord and I felt so disappointed with myself but determined to keep pressing forward. Hearing the singers and amazing musicians, oh my gosh those solos were insane... they filled my heart to overflowing! May his memory always be a blessing! Thank you Jesus!

what are you talkin' about mate? you tellin' me smokie norful isn't a great gospel singer? you tellin' me David Phelps who can be compared to.... WHITNEY HOUSTON isn't a great gospel singer? man.. :) think when you speak.
@bmsocialworkersupportingau22788 жыл бұрын
Andreeas Coroian, Whitney Houston was a good singer. However, she will never be known for being a great gospel singer, not at all. Smokie Norful is another good singer, however, he moans and groans, drags the words, so on my book he will never be known as a great gospel singer. Great gospel singers are the likes of James Cleveland, Charles Fold, Walter Hawkins, The Clark Sisters, Inez Andrews, Shirley Caesar, Alberton Walker, Dorothy Norwood, just to name a few. The music of Andrae Crouch is a lot like the music of Michael Jackson.......it's timeless.

@@bmsocialworkersupportingau2278 You're absolutely correct, Andrae Crouch, Walter Hawkins, Timothy Wright, Charles Ford, Shirley Caesar, Albertina Walker, Mattie Moss Clark!!, these were real, true, and anointed gospel singers. Whitney Houston wasn't a gospel singer per say, and yes she did have a beautiful voice, however, there is a different in the soul (that can be heard) when one is gospel singer verses one that sings gospel from time to time, Yes the voice is good, but the message behind the song has a different impact...

Wow! This song is a legion and there are a lot of musicians that could not duplicate what this band did! For over 24 yrs I have seen a lot of musicians that can play a lot of fancy impressive chords but when it comes down to playing the old school stuff and just music from the early 80's and back, they just can't seem to pick it up! I really believe that back then you had to have skills AND a ANOINTING to play music! I honor these great musicians and Praise God for giving them such great gifts!

When I was young, I absolutely idolized Andre Crouch and then one day I was told he did drugs. this messed me up and I was in total disbelief. Until I had a dream of him. He came to my house and when I opened the door, there he stood weaving from side to side as in a drunken state. When i awoke that was my confirmation that this could be true. Until one evening i saw a Mike Douglas interview of him. I heard from his own lips that he use to do drugs. But you know, I still love his music.
