I think it's more of a winter thing. I'll mostly be using it in the tent to stop the wind but I know some people use them all year round no problems

It's a bit damp yeah, not too bad mind. I mainly use this as an extra layer of warmth inside the tent

I'm also surprised that you didn't go better prepared for the midges after the last time! Remember my midge protection outfit? Full face neck scarf, hat and googles! Hot, but no bites! That donkey was class. I love donkeys. Regarding midges, use a product that is a minimum of 90% Deet. I never have an issue with them after applying that., and these midges are coked out their face up here so have lots of energy. Don't know why you would bivvy in summer though, way too many insects. Did it once and it was either the midges or the ants, but they opened the zip into my Dutch Army bag and all got in.

I think there was 4 donkeys looking for attention before we moved on 😅. Ha midges are crazy little creatures so small but so annoying! Yeah I was trying my luck in bug city there with that bag I was expecting my net to work though and not just get ignored 😂

The blackflies out our way here in Nova Scotia are deadly this year...we have had a sudden warm spell and they are just thriving...a menace for sure! Enjoy the week ahead!
