How do you keep your pocket 6k safe from rain and fog? do you use a rain cover or can the camera hold up to light rain? I am very hesitant to take my pocket 6k out in bad weather.
@OfTwoLands3 жыл бұрын
I usually avoid to use the camera in the rain, that's why I mention the Eos R in the video. In the Fog it usually is ok. I wouldn't take the BMPCCs out in bad weather.

@@OfTwoLands I have watched your channel for a while and I made the decision to get the pocket 6k and the probe lens from your videos showing how incredible that combo is. I am a nature/educational channel mostly focused on frogs and toads and I am working on studio gear for educational content about pets as well and the pocket 6k and probe lens were very good choices for my needs. I'm looking for a good B-Cam for this camera and I'm torn between the Fujifilm X-T4 and the EOS R. What are your thoughts on the X-T4? This camera is going to be my A-Cam for going out hiking. Odd question for you: I am transitioning to narrative/creative work from podcasting and real estate videos and have been thinking about selling my RF 70-200 f2.8 to fund a BMPCC 6k G2. I've been using the Canon R7 & R8 for the past year which introduced me to 10 bit c-log 3. I found that I really love color grading and working within resolve, and am mainly wanting to experience BRAW as well as having a better screen without using an external monitor. I have the Sigma Art 18-35 & 50-100 to use with the BMPCC (which also work wonderfully on the R7 & R8), do you think I would really miss the 70-200 more than I would love braw and the screen? I was alternatively thinking about grabbing a Sirui Nightwalker lens for the Canon R7 to try some manual focus/cine style, but I might be better off just rolling with what I have for another year. Just curious what you might think about the BMPCC 6k G2 VS RF 70-200 choice in this scenario!?

I'm very new to film making so I decided to start with something not too expensive just in case I stop in the middle or maybe even not like film making. I have a simple Panasonic HC-V800 camcorder. Shoots only full HD but it has a quite good quality optic and sensor for the price. It's super light (600gr with filters and battery), small, and has big range (25-600mm ff equivalent), all in one. Great for landscape but also wildlife. Looking to upgrade mid-next year to something better. What is your point of view on camcorders ? I see A LOT of people shooting on DSLR's / full frame. What makes them better than camcorders ?

Hi Flo, amazing content as always! I have a question. I have the same cameras as you do. 6K pro (A CAM) and EOS R (B CAM) I was wondering what settings you use on each to match color the best. And if you use or if you made LUTs to match them in post.
@OfTwoLands3 жыл бұрын
Hey man, thank you !! Nothing fancy actually, I just shoot log for both, same WB and then grade them with Filmconvert in FCPX. Not luts. The thing with me is that I usually use the R only when the weather is crazy or where I can't use the Pocket so the footage is different enough most of the time if that makes sense. I rarely use them at the same time exept for interviews and then in that case I use a tight lens on the R or vice versa :)
@AndyKunkel3 жыл бұрын
@@OfTwoLands Thanks for the tip! I don't use LUTs, just was wondering if you did. I am primarily a wedding videographer. nervous to use LOG but I think I should just go for it. Hope to take my freelancing full time and make short documentaries. The nice thing about using the 6k Pro with BRAW is that I can convert it to LOG in post. I'll use the View Assist while using LOG on the EOS R. I color in Davinci Resolve currently. I'll watch your older Color Grading video to get the idea of which steps YOU use. And thanks for your response!

I see that you previously used the MKE600 on the kit, and now the RODE. Which do you prefer?
@OfTwoLands3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the shoot. The Sennheiser is of much better quality but less practical since it doesn't have a dial, no usb input and is bigger. I use the Rode for voice over, outdoor shooting and travel if needed. I keep the Sennheiser for interviews and documentary shooting when the weather is nice.

Thanks a lot !! I do yes, of course my Contax or Meike are much better but for travel the Canon are good enough. I use them for documentary as well and never has an issue with focusing. They are quite light and precise for zooms.
@martinekwall46713 жыл бұрын
@@OfTwoLands Thanks for sharing your experience. I have several canon glass and they are all so different in their focus rings. EF 70-200 f4 focus ring is not smooth but zoom ring is. RF 24-105 f4 has fantastic focus ring but the zoom ring makes a squeaky noise. 16-35 works out. RF 24-105 f4 has practically no focus breathing and it’s not too far from being par focal. Nice bokeh for an f4 on most of the zoom range. It’s sharper edge to edge than any EF mid zoom or wide angle zoom by far. It fell into a stream with the R. Nothing happened to the lens, no water inside it, checked by Canon. 😂 It’s a work horse!

Awesome stuff, your Iceland film is breathtaking dude! I run a very similar kit and it's great to get ideas on how I can optimize it. Which tripod do you use at the moment for travel work? I have primarily shot on gimbals in the past but I'm starting to fall in love with handheld and feel a tripod or monopod might be easier to transport than a gimbal for stabalised shots. Also it looks like you have an extra rail on top of the smallrig cage for the nato top handle. Is this essential? I'm buying a top handle today for the 6k pro for a Vancouver trip next month and would love it to be nato for easy removal :) Thanks a bunch man, inspiring as always!
@OfTwoLands3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much mate !! For work I use two tripods. Manfrotto 055 and 290 with 2 different heads (502 and 500) And yes the rail is for the for Nato handle I forgot to mention it. I love using Nato, so much easier :) Thank for watching and have a safe trip!
Жыл бұрын
Honestly the size of the pocket is not for traveling. I have a 6K pro and in the end you need a lot of extra batteries, stabilizers, etc. There are better options to take with you on a trip if you want to enjoy the trip and not be burdened with weight all day.
