Went with Steeda mount and upper arm. Mount is very heavy duty and upper is as well. And no bolt issue matched set. Very Happy with there products.

My car was an extreme scenario. I was making a boatload of power and tq on the hit and drove around on 29.5” tall drag radials.

But isn’t the white line supposed to be longer? Isn’t that how they help with roll center and brake hop
@PMPerformance10 ай бұрын
No clue. It whiteline flat out told me their design was not meant for cars like mine and would likely break again. They advised me to sell the replacement and go with something else. lol I am pretty sure this broke the way it did due the driveshaft length. I think the wrong driveshaft was selected by the show that built the car. Hence why it was great after I adjusted everything perfectly.

I did wondered why Whiteline didn't offer a upper control arm bracket when I recently got mine through A.M. -They only offered an RTR upper control arm bracket. This combo worked perfectly no issues at all.

Whiteline still makes the uppers and brackets. The bracket was fine and the adjustable upper was fine. Its the original piece that was non adjustable was poorly designed. Please remember this car makes +700tq on the hit on just 93 octane and lives on big drag radials. That does not help the situation at all either. The original Whiteline part just was not designed well or made with good materials. I have no doubt the adjustable one would have been fine, but because i race the car, I went with something proven for drag racing.

Did the rear end get really noisy and transfer a bunch of noise into the car after install?
@PMPerformance7 ай бұрын
Not at all. There was zero difference in NVH as far as I could tell.

Steeda FTW

Jeff White I usually really like my Steeda components. For the most part their support is great too. I went BMR though due to all the big boys running it.

BMR products are over engineered, We never had a problem with anything they made. We have had everything they made on our Mustang for over 10 years without a problem. We did have to replace one poly bushing, but hey 10 years? Well worth the money, and the upper control arm spherical is built like it's for a Peterbilt. No body beats BMR customer service, Period!
@PMPerformance5 жыл бұрын
Victor Radzawich I wish I could say I had the same experience. Mine was not built to spec. There was a 5mm gap between the mount and the spherical spacers. They told me to just “bend them” to make them fit. So it bends and it didn’t fit in the car then. So I needed to bend it back out and screw with it. Doesn’t sound well engineered to me. Point 1: the Whiteline mount had a plate to avoid the mounting points moving or bending. Why couldn’t BMR incorporate this seeming they know if you take them off the jig too soon, they warp Point 2: if they know ford provides a whatever it was 27mm hole, why not make their bung the same size? Why not supply the bigger bolt since people are spending the money to upgrade? These things seem logical to me

Did you buy this car used? Might explain allot.
@PMPerformance4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that doesn't explain it as this was a high $$$ shop build, but I would not have picked this part.
@coloradokid8084 жыл бұрын
Yea but people get parts orders wrong allot,you dont really know what thr high dollar shop did,I have seeb cars with 1200 horse power and never had anything like that happen,besides most of the torqe twist is in the shaft not that upper mount,the upper mount just keeps it square dig?
@PMPerformance4 жыл бұрын
pat mcgeough I’ve have looked over the car completely. I am well aware of everything on it. The issue was a poorly made item on a car with lots of power and traction. Yes it was longer and caused some pinion angle issues with the 1 piece DS, but that didn’t break it, just caused shifting issues. PS: no one with 1200hp runs that shitty UCA. Lol. I showed pretty clearly it was a poor quality piece.
@coloradokid8084 жыл бұрын
Are you sure you used the right part when you installed that? Doesn't look like it was made for your year mustang. The thickness of the metal doesn't match up. This would cause a bad warble and break like I see on your part.
@PMPerformance4 жыл бұрын
Brenspeed installed this. They indeed used the wrong UCA in conjunction with a 1 piece driveshaft. It was too long. The bracket was made as well for a newer S197 car, but that is fine. Regardless of this though, Whiteline confirmed this was a known issue anyway.
