little tip for anyone, at 10:47 if it spins for you you can put the jack below it and lift it a bit which puts pressure on it, then will easily come out with impact gun instead of using wrench and torx.

Thank you so much for this video. It helped me to safe $250. I changed the 4 front control arms on my F20 today.

You're very welcome Jason, that's exactly what makes making the videos worth it!

Anyone knows the torque values the nuts must be tighten on?

Thanks for the vid. I have a Z4 which looks similar suspension. I replaced the arms on mine and the car droops big time in the corner when I turn the wheel, so I need to try again with the car on the ground. I noticed that yours raises / lowers a bit when you turn the wheels too, so I don't feel quite as bad!

Glad to help, I hope you get yours sorted.

Thanks for the great guide. Out of interest were there any signs of wear on the old items (this time or the first time you did the job)? And did changing these arms fix your issue/improve the steering response? I've just got one of these cars and it's pretty wonky/loose to drive and looking at what to attack first!

It did drive better after this but it was only very low level knocking I was trying to eliminate. If you aren’t experiencing knocking the first thing I’d do is get 4 wheel alignment done and a set of matching tyres (at the very least matching pairs front and back) is an absolute must.

Hey, I was wondering how your control arms are doing right now? The Delphi brand is one of the cheapest options out there so I was wondering how the quality is holding up so far? Thank you.

Hello, wish I could give a good answer but I no longer have the car. I used to use Delphi for everything but haven’t been impressed with the corrosion resistance on their brake discs. Sorry that doesn’t help much.

@@IAMASPANNER Alright, thanks for taking your time to reply to my comment. I've put stabilizer links from Delphi on my cars so I was curious how the quality was from the brands since I don't read much about them. I only know the Delphi brand from the coils but I believe thats completely different.

Might have longer life expectancy with higher grade parts.

Always easier to break the wheel lug nuts loose when the vehicle is on the ground. Great video

Nice vids man! I have problem with my f20, in the cold the rear clunks as crazy. It is noticable when driving upt o 60-70km/h. We replaced the shoxs (sachs oem) and the mounts.

Is it snowing there? You are a tenacious person to do that job in freezing weather.

Can’t recall if it was snowing but it wasn’t particularly warm. Sometimes just have to get on with it.

Hey buddy. How are the control arms treating u? Any wear or need to replace them? I am worried about the lifetime and quality of Delhi parts specifically control arms.

Delphi parts are good quality aftermarket and they are OEM for a lot of things. I haven’t got the car anymore so don’t have an answer about longevity.

Does the wheel hubs on all f20 not have studs? Was so excited and just about to buy some dishes rims for mine but I didn’t try to take off the wheels before so this isn’t something I’ve noticed
@IAMASPANNER2 жыл бұрын
I can’t see why they wouldn’t all be the same so I guess they will all have bolts rather than studs.

Do you need to change both sides or just the side that has the issue?
@IAMASPANNER2 жыл бұрын
You can change one side if you like but it’s best to do both sides then have your wheel alignment done after changing any suspension components.

Will car need alignment after this ?
@IAMASPANNER2 жыл бұрын
Yes, ideally when changing any suspension parts you should have alignment done. Also check my other videos you should tighten these control arms with the car sat on the floor, I didn’t mention in the video.
@Matt_C_N Жыл бұрын
It's good practice, but pretty sure dealers don't check it under warranty work since it shouldn't impact Toe at all; camber isn't even adjustable. If tie rods are replaced, then yes, definately.
