BMW 1 Series - Brake Fluid Change and OBC reminder reset.

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Shed!
In this video I will be carrying out a slightly overdue replacement of the brake fluid.
The car has been warning me of the need to replace the fluid for a couple of months every time I start it so it is about time I get it done.

Nice video sir...always amused me why BMW thinks that the fluid is useless after two years ....mind you as i also found out on my 320 ...BMW thinks a lot of things need changing when they are not broken...had a Waring for the DPF that said "Replacement required" and after hours of digging and finding out about BMW DIS ...i found that there is a counter that triggers after so many Kilometres regardless if its faulty or not ..nice bill if you take it to the main garage too....Needless to say it was perfectly fine and re-gen'd no problem after a reset . :)

Great video once again Kev. Just have a quick question regarding this kit as I bought it last week. I pump up the vacuum before undoing the bleed nipple and the bleed nipple adapter seems to fit snug but as soon as I crank the bleed nipple, the vacuum just goes to 0 like the is an air leak at the bleed nipple. I have tried it without the adapter and just with the hose but still no joy. I double checked all the seals around the hand pump and the brake fluid collector container and all seems fine. What would you do in this scenario? A different bleed nipple adapter or a smaller hose? Would appreciate your help, thanks. Liam

Hello again mate! When bleeding your brakes is your handbrake on or off? Would you also bleed your clutch at the same time or when would you bleed your clutch?

Can you simply add more break fluid if it’s low. My mechanic said it was low so I’m just curious?

By completely emptying your brake fluid there’s a chance air will get into the abs system and you don’t want that to happen!!
