BMW 116i F20 Injen CAI and Racechip Installation

In this video I am presenting the installation of Injen CAI and RaceChip tuning box on a BMW 116i F20. I am not responsible for any kind of modification that you may perform on your car watching this video.
Attention!! In case you decide to do the same installation yourself please keep in mind the following. First of all, open the engine's hood and lock the car. After 20 minutes the electrical circuits of the car will automatically switched off and only then you can disconnect the sensors that are mentioned in my video. Note that the car shall be remain locked during the whole installation process.
After the installation of the Injen CAI and/or RaceChip drive with patient the first 200 Km in order the ECU to adapt better the new settings.
Part 1a (00:06-07:36): Disconnection of the OEM air intake.
Part 1b (13:38-25:15): Installation of the new Injen CAI.
Part 2 (07:37-13:37): Installation of the RaceChip tuning box.

Στο παρόν βίντεο παρουσιάζω την τοποθέτηση της εισαγωγής αέρα Injen και του παράλληλου εγκεφάλου της RaceChip σε BMW 116i F20. Δεν φέρω καμία ευθύνη για τις επεμβάσεις που πιθανόν να πραγματοποιήσετε στο δικό σας αυτοκίνητο.
ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ! Σε περίπτωση που αποφασίσετε να πραγματοποιήσετε παρόμοια εγκατάσταση εξοπλισμού στο δικό σας αυτοκίνητο να έχετε υπόψη τα παρακάτω. Ανοίξτε το καπό της μηχανής και κλειδώστε το αυτοκίνητο. Εφόσον περάσουν 20 λεπτά, τα ηλεκτρικά του αυτοκινήτου θα έχουν κλείσει και μόνο τότε μπορείτε να αποσυνδέσετε οποιοδήποτε αισθητήρα. Το αυτοκίνητο θα πρέπει να παραμείνει κλειδωμένο καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια της τοποθέτησης.
Μετά την εγκατάσταση του νέου εξοπλισμού οδηγήστε με σύνεση τα πρώτα 200 Km προκειμένου να προσαρμοστεί καλύτερα ο εγκέφαλος του αυτοκινήτου.

Hy, Great job !! Thumbs up for your video !! Just 4 questions: 1. How many hp does it gain by adding the racechip ? from 136hp ... to aprox 170hp ? any dyno test afterwards ? :) 2. Where do you feel the most improvement ? ... 0 - 100 km/h ? OR 100 - xx k/h? I'm asking because I would be intereseted for a plus in overtaking on the road at speeds 100km/h onwards .. 3. Can you post a link to the Injen kitt ? .. or any info regarding the exact CAI kitt ? 4. Does the CAi change the overall sound of the engine when reving ? ... Thanks !

Thank you my friend. 1. I have not yet performed a dyno test. According to Racechip the gain is 40 Hp and 66 Nm. Using a cheap Bluetooth OBD2 device and Torque Pro I measured 8,2 sec at 0-100 and 178 Hp at 4496 rpm. These measurements were performed with position "D" at the settings and with the Injen CAI installed. Now I am using position "C" due to smoother engine running. Initial Racechip's setting is position B. 2. You can feel a better acceleration at 80+ km/h. The upgrade from stock is quite noticeable. 3. Please check the following link. Look also my video at 06:57 because I had some compatibility issues and finally Injen sent me a new redesigned connecting tube. www.injen-europe.com/bmw/114i-116-118-120i-1-4l-turbo-f20-21-short-ram-intake-system.html Please note that if you install the Injen intake without the Racechip (or any other chip), it is most probable to receive a check engine fault (P0100-powertrain Mass or volume air flow circuit). 4. Yes, the engine sound is much better during acceleration. You can hear the air suction from the air filter when pressing the gas pedal and when you are leaving it you can hear the wastegate whistle (even at eco pro). Go to 24:55 at my video in order to have an idea. I would also like to mention that the petrol consumption was decreased a little!

I see the injen air intake is about 440€. Do you know what the HP gain is from the new intake system alone?

With 100 RON gasoline, only the Injen air intake 153 Hp

not to bash but this will not add more power, a simple drop in filter from k&n would give the same outcome is cheaper en less work, only up^side this will maybe have is a bit of a better noise.

Αρκετά ικανοποιημένος μπορώ να πω. Αυτό όσο αναφορά την δικιά μου εμπειρία μετά την τοποθέτηση του παράλληλου και χωρίς κάποια δυναμομέτρηση. Επίσης δεν έχω κάποιο μέτρο σύγκρισης για να σου πω ¨ναι πράγματι αξίζει αυτός ο παράλληλος σε σχέση με κάποιον άλλο¨ Η μείωση στην κατανάλωση που υπόσχεται , πράγματι ισχύει.
